For more than 40 years, Bloomington–Normal has trusted the medical professionals at Associates in Dermatology for expert skin care.

Because everyone’s skin tells a story, we listen attentively to each patient so we can provide expert dermatological medical services and skin care and treatments that result in healthy, vibrant skin. Our practice was founded and led by Dr. James Seehafer in 1980. His solid medical management and compassion and empathy for his patients set this practice apart, establishing it as the choice in our area for dermatological care. Dr. Tom Brander and Dr. Lucy Nelson Wisdom joined the team in 1997 and 2004, respectively. Their roots in our community run deep. Dr. Wisdom was born and raised in Bloomington–Normal. This is where they are raising families, connecting with friends and neighbors, volunteering and serving. Bloomington–Normal is truly home for them, which feeds their commitment to provide each patient with holistic, compassionate care. Together with our team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and assistants, Associates in Dermatology is our community’s trusted skin health provider.

Associates in Dermatology now offers photodynamic therapy (PDT) with Ameluz® and the RhodoLED® light system to treat actinic keratoses, sun-damaged, precancerous spots on the face and scalp. This FDA-approved treatment uses a light-activated gel and red light to target damaged cells while protecting healthy skin. Most patients need only one or two treatments with minimal downtime, which helps improve both skin health and appearance.
