Honoring Our Heroes this Veterans Day

Today, November 11th, we proudly celebrated Veterans Day across Friendship Village — honoring all the brave men and women who have served our country. ❤️

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our veterans for their service, courage, and sacrifices in protecting our freedom.

A special thank you to Doug Ohman for his incredible presentation on Medal of Honor recipients from the state of Minnesota — a moving tribute that reminded us of the extraordinary valor and dedication of our service members.

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate, reflect, and honor those who have given so much.

🎶 A Special Performance at Friendship Village! 🎶

Our residents were treated to a beautiful musical experience as Lori Ronchak visited and performed on her Hammered Dulcimer! ✨

The soothing, melodic tones of this unique instrument filled the room and created such a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Residents loved hearing Lori share her talent and stories about this fascinating instrument. 💙

On November 5, our community came together to celebrate the many cultures that make FVB such a special place! Residents enjoyed an incredible variety of foods from around the world, each dish sharing a story, a tradition, and a taste of home. 🍜🥖🥗🌮🍰

Calvin serves as a CNA in both the Memory Care and Assisted Living neighborhoods at Friendship Village of Bloomington. He was nominated by ten different team members, all of whom shared their deep appreciation for his unwavering commitment to resident care.
“Calvin is amazing with our residents,” one team member shared. “He takes the time to truly understand them as individuals and tailors his approach to meet their unique needs.”
Team members consistently describe Calvin as dedicated, compassionate, and collaborative. His calm and kind presence makes a meaningful impact each day. “He goes above and beyond to listen and reassure residents, especially when they’re feeling anxious,” another noted. “He ensures every resident feels seen, heard, and valued.”
