Lollos is our Team Member of The Month of February. Lollos is a Personal Care Assistant and works in our Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods. Lollos was nominated by another team member who mentioned Lollos is always very helpful and shows a good attitude at work. They wrote: “I would like to make a special mention, no less than weekly, do I have residents or team members who come to my office to tell me how great, kind and wonderful of a worker Lollos is. He is always striving to provide better service, better care and create lasting relationships with those around him.”

🩸 Great News! 🩸
The Friendship Village of Bloomington / Bloomington Lions Blood Drive on February 2 was a tremendous success!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, 57 units of blood were collected. 49 amazing donors gave their time — and literally of themselves — helping to save the lives of 131 local hospital patients at hospitals across the Twin Cities.
Thank you to everyone who donated, including our walk-ins. Your generosity truly makes a life-saving difference.
A special thank-you to our partners at Memorial Blood Centers, especially Alicia Northenscold and her amazing team, for their support and hard work. ❤️

🎶 Live Music Spotlight 🎶

On January 13 at FVB, accordion player Ryan Cihlar delivered an unforgettable performance that truly transported us through time and place. From classic European melodies and Midwestern folk tunes to the smooth sounds of Dean Martin and the nostalgic hits of Tears For Fears, Ryan breathed new life into beloved classics.

Playing his authentic 1950’s Excelsior accordion, Ryan filled the room with warmth, charm, and timeless music that had us completely captivated. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening!

🎶 What a Wonderful Evening of Music! 🎶

On Tuesday, January 6, residents and guests at Friendship Village of Bloomington enjoyed a fantastic Sing Along with Dan Chouinard.

With four decades of experience as the pianist and accordionist of choice for a who’s who of Twin Cities performers, Dan led everyone through a wide variety of songs filled with energy, laughter, and great memories. It was truly an evening of fun, music, and community sing-along spirit! 🎹🎤

Mercy deserves so much respect and praise – although she is too humble and comfortable in her own skin to demand such attention… She is respected by the team, residents and families especially because she sees everyone as a member of this neighborhood and senses how we all contribute to the weather of this place.”

We recently joined WCCO to talk about how starting these conversations with curiosity—not stress—can open the door to honest, meaningful dialogue. When you take your time, ask questions, and explore options at your own pace, it becomes easier to make decisions that feel right for you.

One thing we hear often from residents who move into independent living is,
“I wish I had done this sooner.” Many find new friendships, renewed purpose, and a community that helps them stay independent longer—with less worry and more joy.

Now in the seventh year of partnership, FVB again teamed up with Minnetonka High School juniors and seniors as they studied AP Psychology and learned how priorities and passions change throughout the lifetime. Residents paired one-to-one with a student and shared life stories, and then the students will did a unique presentation as a thank-you for the lessons gained from the elders.

🎄✨ 2025 Holiday Celebration & Dance at FVB ✨🎄

Our residents lit up FVB on December 17 and 18 as we celebrated our 2025 Holiday Celebration and Dance! The two-day event was filled with festive music, dancing, delicious treats, and plenty of holiday cheer.

It was wonderful to see our residents enjoying the season together—sharing laughs, making memories, and filling the dance floor with joy. Moments like these truly highlight the warmth and spirit of our community.
