Barbara Ann Lollie Davis gained her wings on Monday morning, March 30, 2026. She was born on September 17, 1948, in Jackson County, and lived a life marked by love, dedication, and service to those around her. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Lollie and Bernice Dunham Lollie, as well as her beloved husband, Norman A. “Skeet” Davis—her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her family. She is survived by her two daughters: her oldest, Amy Green and husband David, and her youngest, Cathy Davis. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Lollie and wife Glenda; her sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Davis Long and Late husband Thomas; and her Late brothers-in-law, Joseph and wife Annie, and Ricky and wife Debbie. Barbara was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, including Nathan Long, Jason Long, Matthew Davis, Heather Carpenter, April Davis, Josh Davis, and Jessica Lollie. She also held a special place in her heart for her devoted caregiver, Diane Holland, whose love and care meant so much to her.
A 1966 graduate of Bristol High School, Barbara married her high school sweetheart and began building a life centered around family, hard work, and community. She began her career with the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, where she developed a strong work ethic and passion for helping others. She later served as secretary to the North Campus Dean at Pasco-Hernando Community College before relocating back to Blountstown. There, she continued her career at the Sheriff’s Department as a secretary and dispatcher, followed by a position at Lee Cars & Trucks. After gaining valuable experience as a title clerk, Barbara found her true calling at the Tax Collector’s Office. Barbara had a genuine love for people, and her warm personality made her a natural in public service. She enjoyed working with the community so much that when Ms. Duke retired, Barbara ran for the position and was honored to serve. She held that office with pride and dedication until her retirement, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering strength, and her deep love for her family. She touched many lives through her work, her friendships, and the simple, meaningful ways she showed up for others every day. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
