Be prepared!

🧊 ICE STORM POSSIBLE — PREPARE NOW 🧊

We are monitoring the potential for up to one-half inch of ice accumulation in our area this weekend. Ice impacts can be significant and dangerous, even without heavy snow.

🚗 TRAVEL ON ICE IS NOT SAFE
• Ice-covered roads are not drivable, even with 4WD or AWD
• Bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas freeze first
• Emergency response times may be delayed
• If ice develops, stay off the roads if at all possible

🌳 TREES & POWERLINES
• Ice adds extreme weight to trees and limbs
• Falling limbs can block roads and damage homes and vehicles
• Ice on powerlines can cause widespread power outages, possibly lasting several days

🔌 POWER OUTAGE PREPARATION
• Charge phones, medical devices, and battery packs
• Have flashlights and extra batteries ready
• Use generators safely — never indoors or in garages
• Limit opening refrigerators/freezers if power is lost

🏠 COLD WEATHER PREP
• Protect pipes by dripping faucets and opening cabinet doors
• Bring pets indoors
• Check on elderly neighbors and those with medical needs

🥫 PREPARE FOR SEVERAL DAYS
• Have food and drinking water for multiple days
• Keep needed medications on hand
• Gather blankets, warm clothing, and bedding
• Plan to stay home if roads become impassable

⚠️ STAY INFORMED
Forecast details may change. We will continue to monitor conditions and share updates as they become available. Please rely on official sources for accurate information.

✔️ Preparing now helps keep you safe and allows emergency responders to focus on critical calls.
