Did you know there is no word for a parent who has experienced the death of a child? You describe others as widows, widowers, etc. but there is not one word that has been created to recognize this group of people. Honestly, it feels sort of right. There is no one way to describe the anguish of parents who are not able to spend time with their children in their lives. It’s an undeserved and often silent agony.
That is why we are holding space at our farm on February 22, to provide grieving parents a place to explore their emotions. Whether the loss is recent or many years ago, grief has no timeline and all are welcome here.
