Did you know there is no word for a parent who has experienced the death of a child? You describe others as widows, widowers, etc. but there is not one word that has been created to recognize this group of people. Honestly, it feels sort of right. There is no one way to describe the anguish of parents who are not able to spend time with their children in their lives. It’s an undeserved and often silent agony.

That is why we are holding space at our farm on February 22, to provide grieving parents a place to explore their emotions. Whether the loss is recent or many years ago, grief has no timeline and all are welcome here.

We know today is the “big game” in the world of football, so to pay homage to the event, we thought we’d tell you that we are currently teaching Lee Smith how to play soccer (European football). And we are proud to say, he is very good at eating fruit. 🤣 We will keep you updated on his progress. ⚽️🏈

We hope you enjoy the game today! If today is a day where your grief or trauma is not up for the game, take it easy on yourself. Feel whatever comes and lean in to your coping skills - it’s ok to take a breath and enjoy some apples. 🍎

Our Founder, Camille Hawkins, posted this earlier today and we want to echo her message, so those that need the info get it.

“Being in this world, in this country… right now everything feels heavy. I’m hosting a gathering this afternoon from 4-8 pm, a connection retreat to make space for humanity and all the emotions that follow. For the highs and the lows. For the things we can and can’t control. To laugh and to cry and to eat and to create. We will be making candles and having a little fire together, having fun with the farm animals and sound bath. Low key and rejuvenating.

Room for a few more friends!”

If you are one of the FRIENDS who this calls to, we’d love to see you there. 🫶🏽

Cardboard. Who knew?! 🐖

The queen herself, Petunia, has provided us another important life lesson. Find your cardboard! Whatever it is you LOVE to do, make it a regular thing in your schedule. Now, you have to keep in mind that others opinions of what you do, don’t matter! It’s about giving your brain and body an outlet to regulate your nervous system, to bring about energy and renewed focus in the near future.

We’d love to know - what’s YOUR “cardboard?” Tell us in the comments.

The world feels intense right now. Many are carrying grief, fear, anger, heartbreak, and exhaustion as violence, division, and suffering unfold around us. Our Founder, Camille Hawkins, felt strongly that we needed to create space to process the emotions felt from it all, in a healthy and safe way.

So, we are hosting an evening retreat next Saturday, which is an invitation to pause together—to gather in community, to grieve, to be witnessed, to participate in a candlelight vigil for humanity, to release stress and anguish and to find hope for the future.

Join us and be comforted by our farm animals and meet our newest farm dog, Ruby, our gentle giant great pyrenees. 🐾🩷

January 25 is our next retreat, dedicated to those living through the experience of divorce. Our Divorce Resiliency Retreat offers a compassionate, grounded space to be seen, witnessed, and held in the tender terrain of divorce. Whether your separation is recent or years behind you, this gathering honors the truth that grief does not move on a schedule -and neither does healing.

During the retreat, attendees can expect:

- Connection – a space to be witnessed without fixing or judgment
- Journaling & Reflection – to give language to what lives within
- Guided Meditation – to reconnect with inner steadiness and self-trust
- Rage Ceremony – a safe, intentional release of anger, grief, and truth Art Therapy – to mark transformation and reclaim personal meaning
- Nature – optional time to connect with our farm friends on the farm

This retreat is not about rushing toward “moving on. It is about honoring what has been lost, naming what is true, and gently opening to what wants to emerge next.

🐑 Lee Smith is up to shenanigans! 🤣 He is truly coming out of his shell and it’s all due to having animals around that he loves - and love him back! They support him and provide him the confidence he needs to keep trying, to help him see things from a new perspective. It’s something we strive for in every group, retreat or gathering at our farm. Our animals teach us so much. 🩷
