Thankful this day for our newest residents! Lee 🐑 and Zoey 🐷 just got to the farm this week and are settling in well. Their backgrounds include a little bit of trauma and we are so happy to be able to provide them a safe-place to live after what they’ve been through. Your donations, support, and view/shares help us create this sanctuary for animals and humans to heal - we are so grateful you let us be part of so many lives. Happy thanksgiving! 🍁

At this time last year, we had three birds on our farm. Yes, that’s not a typo - 3! The joy it bring us to see our flock expand and even include wild birds can hardly be described. We hope that our own flock of people we help at the farm gets this big by next year. 🤞🏻🩷🦆🐓

🐖 This is our girl, Petunia. Princess Petunia, as she is lovingly referred to on the farm. She is a Berkshire pig - whose breed originated in England. Hence, her royal title. 😉 They are known for being friendly and well-suited for small scale, pasture based farming. It’s like she was made for us!

One thing we love about her is that she knows what she likes and what she doesn’t. And, she lets her opinion be heard! You never have to guess with her and we are inspired by her, in that respect. For example, P LOVES hay. A new hay bed or simply a big pile to play in = a very happy Petunia. It’s a great reminder to find what brings you joy and don’t be afraid to express it.

We only hope that everyone on earth has the opportunity to find their “happy hay” and enjoy it to its fullest.

When a loved one dies, it can feel hard to comprehend the loss no matter the circumstances. When that loss happens due to su***de and/or substances, the unbearable burden of grief is compounded by varying levels of additional questions and emotions. Navigating the complexity doesn’t have to be done alone - we will host a half-day grief retreat, dedicated to those who have had this type of loss impact their lives. We have an incredible group of grief facilitators who will help everyone there feel comfortable as attendees explore their grief and healing journeys. Together, we will find comfort and possibly more understanding of our loved ones. 🫶🏽
