We provide equine ambulatory services for all northern/central Utah regions including Salt Lake, Utah, Cache, Tooele, and Davis counties. We provide equine veterinary care for all your lameness, reproduction, dental, and medical/emergency needs. All of our diagnostic equipment is portable, including our x-ray and ultrasound units. When MPE was created in 2007 the philosophy was simple, provide extraordinary veterinary care and customer service at competitive rates. This senior guy has quite the story

He’s been dealing with chronic ear infections for a long time and has a habit of rubbing his head on anything he can find Unfortunately, he took it too far and ended up rupturing his external ear. After several days of trying to save it, the damage was too severe, and the best option was a pinna and partial external ear amputation.

He handled surgery great and the site was left to heal by second intention ( no sutures) so we can continue treating the ear canal directly and allow proper drainage.

He also has Cushing’s, which makes him more prone to chronic infections and that long, shaggy hair—hence the shave job

While we managed the ear infection and surgical site, our specialist Dr. Kelsey Richards had to get a little creative to protect it from further self-trauma… enter the papier-mâché helmet!

Here at Mountain Point Equine Hospital, we've got you (and your horses) back covered! 😉 This is what's called a uterine lavage. Done after multiple days of uterine antibiotic infusions to remove bacterial endometritis prior to breeding. We perform a uterine culture and cytology: treat with appropriate antibiotics, then lavage the uterus prior to breeding. Our vets are masters at what they do!
