🐌🐔 We’ve been busy at Experience Audiology! Yesterday’s patients were a little different than usual! We had a snail and a chicken stop by for some hearing “testing,” and they were both excellent listeners!😄🎧

Fun facts:
• Chickens can hear sounds almost as well as humans and start hearing before they even hatch from the egg.
• Chickens use different clucks and calls to communicate danger, food, and even to talk to their chicks.
• Snails don’t have ears like we do, but they can sense vibrations and changes around them through their bodies and tentacles.
• Because snails rely more on vibrations than sound, their “hearing test” looked a little different today!

We love bringing a little fun and laughter into the office while sharing how amazing hearing really is! 💕

The stigma of hearing loss is related to three things: alternations in self-perception ("disabled"), ageism ("elderly") and vanity ("ugly").

It is important for those suffering with hearing loss to move past these stigmas. Treating hearing loss will help those with hearing difficulties get their life back on track and potentially feel younger and attractive again due to a renewed self-confidence in everyday life.
