Zirconia implant vs titanium implant—
here’s why I personally choose zirconia.
Over the years, as I’ve read the literature and followed the research on metals in the body, I began to question long-term compatibility—especially in certain patients.
Research shows that titanium can, in some situations, be associated with corrosion, particle release, and inflammatory responses. Not everyone experiences this, but for me, it was enough to shift my direction.
Zirconia offers a metal-free, biocompatible option. It doesn’t conduct electricity, integrates beautifully with bone, and avoids concerns around mixed metals or metal reactivity.
This isn’t about saying titanium is bad for everyone.
It’s about choosing what aligns with whole-body health and long-term stability in my practice.
