We believe that support should meet you exactly where you are. If you're child or teen with autism, a late-diagnosed adult, or a parent navigating this journey, you deserve a space that truly sees you.

Did you know women seek mental health support nearly twice as much as men (APA, 2017)? Reaching out for help isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of self-awareness, resilience, and courage. Choosing to get support means choosing growth and healing over carrying everything on your own.

If you’re in need of support, you’re warmly welcome to join us for our free weekly support group at 1 PM eastern time every Wednesday. The first step is to join our private Facebook group where the weekly meeting link will be posted. Did you know box breathing can help you calm your nervous system and enhance focus in just a few seconds? Here’s how…

Box breathing:
Inhale slowly for 4 counts.
Hold your breath for 4 counts.
Exhale slowly for 4 counts.
Hold your breath for 4 counts.
Inhale slowly for 4 counts.
Hold your breath for 4 counts.
Repeat this cycle, visualizing the side of a square with each step.

If you’d like to build your skills in focus and nervous system regulation, connect with our team to be matched with one of our amazing therapists to explore effective coping strategies.

CC: “So, maybe you’ve heard of box breathing but I’m going to explain the technique and then you’re welcome to do it along with me while you’re watching this video. So box breathing is a four part breath - first, we count to four and take and inhale. Then we hold the breath for a count of four. We exhale for a count of four. And hold the breath for a count of four and repeat for four cycles so lets dive in. I’ll ground my feet hips distance apart, feel myself get ready and taking in a big breath. We’ll do four rounds of box breathing and begin (demonstrates box breathing exercise).

A 2023 study found that approximately 1 in 4 women in the U.S. experience concerns related to their mental health (NIMH, 2023). Compared to men, women are more likely to experience anxiety, depression, and trauma related disorders, highlighting the unique stressors women often carry and the growing need for support, empathy, and safe spaces where healing can happen, especially in uncertain times.

Join us on Wednesday at 1 PM eastern for a free, therapist-led, trauma-informed, debate-free, confidential, and camera-free friendly space for women looking for a safe place for support and connection. The first step is to join our private Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1736970531041445

We’ll share the link to attend the virtual support group there. You’re also welcome to post anytime. Our community is here to support you through these challenging times💚

We are overjoyed to have celebrated the official ribbon-cutting of our new Balanced Wellness office in Ridgeland, SC this week! ✨

It was truly a special day, and we’re incredibly grateful to the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce for their support in making this event so memorable.

A huge shoutout to LoCo Nutrition for providing delicious, healthy drinks including a signature creation just for us, the “Wellness Wave.” It was such a treat to have them there serving something so refreshing and aligned with our mission💚

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support us, especially despite the less-than-ideal weather. Your presence meant so much and reminded us just how incredible this community truly is. Thank you to the heartBOLD team for your support in spreading the word about the event and for your hands-on assistance throughout the day đź’–

We are so excited for this new chapter and the opportunity to continue providing compassionate mental health support to families across the Carolinas from our new space. So much intention went into creating a welcoming, comfortable environment, and it meant everything to see it filled with such support, connection, and care.

Here’s to new beginnings and continuing to foster wellness throughout our community🌿

Many women are carrying a lot right now…grief, anger, fear, exhaustion, or a deep sense of moral distress related to what’s currently happening in the world. For military spouses and partners navigating deployment, these feelings can be even heavier as you balance distance, uncertainty, parenting, and the daily weight of holding everything together at home.
Join us every Wednesday at 1 PM Eastern time for a free virtual support group brought to you by Balanced Wellness. This group is designed to offer a safe space that honors emotional processing.
If your partner is currently deployed, preparing to leave, or you’re adjusting to life during long periods apart, you don’t have to do it alone. Connecting with other women who understand the unique challenges of military life can make a meaningful difference.
A link to join via Google Meet will be posted within our private Facebook group. The first step is to request to join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18BrRK6zsd/ — you will be asked to acknowledge the group rules before joining and a member of our staff will review your request as soon as possible.
We look forward to providing you with support and community during these challenging times đź’›

It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous about your first therapy session. Our goal is to make your first experience with therapy feel safe, supportive, and comfortable. Here’s what you can expect when getting started:

-Your therapist will focus on helping you feel safe and supported
-You’ll have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult lately, and where you’d like to see change in your life
-You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable about your background, including the identities, relationships, cultures, and experiences that shape your story
-Your therapist will explain how they approach therapy and work with you to explore methods that best support your goals
-You’ll learn about confidentiality and how your information is protected
-Together, you’ll decide whether weekly or bi-weekly sessions feel like the right fit for your needs and schedule
-Individual intake sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and couples intake sessions may last up to 90 minutes.

If you’ve been considering therapy but haven’t taken the next step, reach out to our team to be matched with a therapist that’s the best fit for you.
