It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous about your first therapy session. Our goal is to make your first experience with therapy feel safe, supportive, and comfortable. Here’s what you can expect when getting started:

-Your therapist will focus on helping you feel safe and supported
-You’ll have the opportunity to share what brought you to therapy, what has been feeling difficult lately, and where you’d like to see change in your life
-You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable about your background, including the identities, relationships, cultures, and experiences that shape your story
-Your therapist will explain how they approach therapy and work with you to explore methods that best support your goals
-You’ll learn about confidentiality and how your information is protected
-Together, you’ll decide whether weekly or bi-weekly sessions feel like the right fit for your needs and schedule
-Individual intake sessions typically last 45–60 minutes and couples intake sessions may last up to 90 minutes.

If you’ve been considering therapy but haven’t taken the next step, reach out to our team to be matched with a therapist that’s the best fit for you.

What a beautiful evening! On Saturday night, we were thrilled to see three of our amazing team members at the 2026 Signature Golden Oyster Awards Gala hosted by the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. We're proud to be a sponsor of this year's event and even prouder to be part of a community that values connection, growth, and service.

Here's to the lowcountry community and the work we all do together to make it an extraordinary place to live, heal, and grow!

Recently, news media has included themes and images that can be highly triggering. When policies and political narratives impact us, our loved ones, our neighbors and our communities we can experience feelings of fear, uncertainty, anger, grief and helplessness… It’s normal for our nervous systems to feel more acutely activated. While it’s important to be aware, being politically engaged does not require constant exposure to triggering content. Prioritizing safety and connection helps you show up for yourself and others.

Regulation is not disengagement, it’s a necessary prioritization of safety and connection that sustains compassion, clarity and progress. We're here for you.

This week is National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.

Eating disorders are coping mechanisms, not character flaws.
They are not about vanity.
They are not about “willpower.”
And they are not a phase.
They are complex mental health conditions that often develop where anxiety, trauma, identity, control, perfectionism, and nervous system dysregulation intersect.

For many, food can become:
• a way to manage overwhelming emotions
• a way to feel in control when life feels chaotic
• a way to cope with shame, grief, or pressure
• a way to quiet anxiety, even temporarily

If this resonates with you, this doesn't mean you’re broken. Your nervous system may be doing the best it knows how to. Healing is possible and it doesn’t require shame. It requires support, safety, and compassionate curiosity. If you or someone you love is struggling, you deserve help. You are not alone.

Join us every Wednesday at 1 PM Eastern time starting March 4th for a free virtual support group for women who are feeling overwhelmed 💛

Many women are experiencing grief, anger, fear, exhaustion, or a deep sense of moral distress related to what’s happening in our country. This group is designed to offer support (not debate) in a space that honors safety, autonomy, and emotional processing. This group will be facilitated by one of our staff members, Andrea Hill, and will be a safe space to support one another through today’s challenges.

A link to join via Google Meet will be posted within our private Facebook group. The first step is to request to join our Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/share/g/18BrRK6zsd/ - you will be asked to acknowledge the group rules before joining and a member of our staff will review your request to join as soon as possible. We look forward to providing you support through these challenging times💛
