Focused Flow Friday: Triceps ⚡

This week’s 30-minute Focused Flow turns attention to your triceps — the muscles that stabilize your arms, power your push, and create length and control through every extension and transition.

From plank to chaturanga to downward dog and arm balances, your triceps are quietly doing the work that keeps you controlled, supported, and strong.

🗓️ This Week’s Sessions
Monday — 8:15 AM Core Class
Friday — 8:15 AM Focused Flow Friday

✨ Why it matters:
Your triceps make up most of your upper arm and are essential for stable, safe movement in arm-heavy poses. Strengthening them builds shoulder integrity, reduces strain on your joints, and gives you the power to hold longer and move with more control.
When your triceps are firing, transitions feel smoother, arm balances feel possible, and your whole upper body moves as one.

Strong arms extend your reach — and remind you just how much you’re capable of holding.

This morning, our spring graduates led us through a wonderful class with Shakespeare, big twists, & all of the joy! This group started as students became something so much more: teachers, guides, & the next beautiful chapter of this community. 💕

Most people think of yoga as the poses — the flows, the stretches, the sweat. And while that’s a beautiful part of it, it’s actually just one-eighth of the whole picture.

Yoga is a complete system made up of 8 limbs, first outlined by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. Each limb is a layer of practice that builds toward something deeper than flexibility or strength.

The 8 limbs are:

🌎 Yama – how we treat the world around us
💕 Niyama – how we treat ourselves
🤸🏽‍♂️ Asana – the physical postures (yes, this is what most of us start with)
💨 Pranayama – breathwork and energy regulation
👁️ Pratyahara – withdrawing the senses inward
🙏🏼 Dharana – focused concentration
🧎🏼‍♀️‍➡️Dhyana – meditation
🫶🏼 Samadhi – a state of deep union and stillness

Asana is the doorway many of us walk through first — and there’s nothing wrong with that. But once you’re inside, there’s a whole house to explore.
