Today we celebrate that the story didn’t end on Friday ✝️ What felt like darkness has given way to light. What felt like loss has been overcome by life.

Because of the resurrection, we are reminded that hope isn’t just a promise - it’s alive. Happy Easter 🤍

On this Good Friday, we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus and the depth of God’s love for us all ✝️

Through His sacrifice, we are reminded that even in darkness, there is hope. Today, we pause in gratitude and remembrance, holding onto the promise that hope is never lost 🤍

Happy National PB & J Day!! 🥜🍇

We’re feeling extra grape-ful today - a huge thank you to Valero for spreading the love with a donation of 100 jars of peanut butter and 100 jars of jelly for our food pantry 💜

Because of your generosity, we can help make sure more families don’t go without this classic staple. Now that’s something worth jelly-brating!

🌟 Helping Hands’ Annual Bow Campaign is HERE 🌟 Our beloved Bow Campaign runs now through April 30th for Child Abuse Awareness Month! Here’s what you need to know:

1️⃣ What is the Bow Campaign?
It’s a fun and impactful fundraiser with bows numbered 1–100 (the number equals the cost, for example, bow 46 costs $46), plus sparkly bows at $250, $500, and $1,000 levels 🎀 Each bow has the name of a child we serve through our children’s programming and their dream for the future.

2️⃣ What is the goal?
To sell every bow! We’ve had families, businesses, children, and people from out of state support this campaign 🤗

3️⃣ How do I get a bow?
We’d love for you to stop by our office; otherwise you can email, message, or call us to claim your bow(s) - easy peasy!

4️⃣ Why bows?
Bows symbolize the innocence of a child and our commitment to their well-being. Every bow you purchase supports programs that empower children and families to thrive.

5️⃣ Why April?
April is Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, a time to highlight the work we do to prevent and intervene in cycles of abuse and neglect.

6️⃣ I heard something about bow yard signs?
For the second year, look out for our traveling bow signs! They start in select yards and then individuals are “tagged” for the next yard. Keep an eye out - you might be next! 😉

Help us make this year’s Bow Campaign a success and support children in our community. 💕

Meet our newest team member - Alicia! You may see her smile when you walk through our doors ☺️

“I’m so excited and proud to start in this new role as the Office Coordinator at Helping Hands! My husband Jarrod and I have supported Helping Hands for many years. I’ve been able to volunteer with my daughter Hazel in the kids class, attended family events, and I also have helped support my daughters’ non-profit bakery that donates towards the Helping Hands’ banquet each year.

I am a busy mother of four daughters and have been married for 21 years. I look forward to connecting with the clients at Helping Hands and hopefully through my experiences as a wife and mother we can grow and share life together. I’ve mostly been a stay at home mom since we had our oldest daughter who is now 19, but have worked part time in the past several years as a preschool teacher and I also currently serve as a teacher with Lifewise. We are active attendees at Hope Missionary Church. My passion and volunteerism has always been focused on teaching and pouring into preschool and elementary aged children. Most of my free time is spent with my family. We enjoy biking, hiking, travel, family movie nights, and playing games. I personally LOVE reading and discussing books.

A favorite chapter that brings me comfort and I’ve used with my daughters is Matthew 6, but specifically Matthew 6:34. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself, Each day has enough trouble of its own.” I believe what that chapter says, that God cares for us more than the birds and the flowers and He will provide for us today; we can rest in Him. Helping Hands is coming alongside each client with their “today” and taking some of the burden off of tomorrow and I am thrilled to be a part of that mission.”

Grateful for an incredible 6th Annual Women’s Initiative!

This year, 11 different groups gathered to hear Shelly share powerful “but God” moments - even in seasons of change and uncertainty. So encouraged by the faith, connection, and stories shared 💛

Meet Zach! “I am so blessed to be able to serve the men of our community through Helping Hands. Men’s ministry was a place that I was able to grow deeper in my own faith, and since that time it has been a ministry that is very dear to my heart.

My role as Men’s Coordinator allows me to meet men where they are, to help them weather the storms that are in their life, and realize the goals they have for themselves and their family. My goal is to encourage, teach, and train, but also to listen, give feedback, and walk alongside men who are trying to create the best version of themselves. So many success stories start with people taking time to care and help someone in need. Ultimately, my hope is that in their progress, they will encounter God and His grace and cling to Him.

My wife and I are originally from Wells County, but have been blessed to move around the country in my previous job as an athletic trainer. I also serve as Lead Pastor at Southern Wells Community Church, a position that I have held since 2022.”

We are so excited to have him as part of the team, helping us serve men in an intentional way and walk alongside the whole family.

We are thrilled to meet critical needs, serve more families, and centralize services through a new facility. But we want to be clear - this is not simply an investment in a building. It’s an investment in the life-changing work that will happen within its walls. It’s an investment in every family who walks through our doors, and a commitment to believing that each family has potential. And finally, it’s an investment in our community.

A special thank you to our wonderful collaborators at United Way of Wells County for their support in receiving preliminary approval for a $1.1 million matching grant! An incredible foundation we’ve been able to build off of.

As we near the fundraising finish line, thanks to our incredible community, we ask you to join us in praying over the vision of this project and funding it in full! Can’t wait to share more 💛
