Meet Zach! “I am so blessed to be able to serve the men of our community through Helping Hands. Men’s ministry was a place that I was able to grow deeper in my own faith, and since that time it has been a ministry that is very dear to my heart.

My role as Men’s Coordinator allows me to meet men where they are, to help them weather the storms that are in their life, and realize the goals they have for themselves and their family. My goal is to encourage, teach, and train, but also to listen, give feedback, and walk alongside men who are trying to create the best version of themselves. So many success stories start with people taking time to care and help someone in need. Ultimately, my hope is that in their progress, they will encounter God and His grace and cling to Him.

My wife and I are originally from Wells County, but have been blessed to move around the country in my previous job as an athletic trainer. I also serve as Lead Pastor at Southern Wells Community Church, a position that I have held since 2022.”

We are so excited to have him as part of the team, helping us serve men in an intentional way and walk alongside the whole family.

We are thrilled to meet critical needs, serve more families, and centralize services through a new facility. But we want to be clear - this is not simply an investment in a building. It’s an investment in the life-changing work that will happen within its walls. It’s an investment in every family who walks through our doors, and a commitment to believing that each family has potential. And finally, it’s an investment in our community.

A special thank you to our wonderful collaborators at United Way of Wells County for their support in receiving preliminary approval for a $1.1 million matching grant! An incredible foundation we’ve been able to build off of.

As we near the fundraising finish line, thanks to our incredible community, we ask you to join us in praying over the vision of this project and funding it in full! Can’t wait to share more 💛

We are standing in one of those moments - a season shaped by years of prayer, provision, generosity, and God’s unmistakable faithfulness.

Helping Hands is prayerfully preparing to build a new facility. The foundation is solid, the framework is strong, and the vision is clear. Now, we invite you to step into this moment with us by attending a one-hour vision gathering and see how God is moving in this next chapter.

Thank you Bluffton IN Elks Lodge #796!

Helping Hands is excited to meet critical needs, impact more families, and centralize services through a new facility! Thanks to a generous $2-for-$1 match, the recent gift from the Elks Lodge has been tripled, accelerating progress toward the final phase of their $3 million building campaign.

Helping Hands is a family resource center providing free programs and services to men, women, and children. They offer OB medical services, parenting education, community groups, children’s programming, material assistance, and more. In their new facility, they plan to expand services by launching STI/STD testing, mental health counseling, life skills classes, and more. They also anticipate a 30% increase in visits as they grow to meet the needs of the community.

This work is made possible because of the collaboration and generosity of this community! With the support of United Way of Wells County, Helping Hands received preliminary approval for a $1.1 million matching opportunity - providing a strong foundation for this transformational project. Assuming they receive final approval, they are now just $388,000 away from reaching their $3 million goal. As they work to close this final fundraising gap, every gift is being tripled through the $2-for-$1 match until the goal is met!

Helping Hands is at a pivotal moment, stepping forward to steward the ways God has answered so many prayers. We have been prayerfully discerning the timing of building a new facility after two land donations and years of steady growth.

We are excited to share about our future home at 2120 Commerce Drive Bluffton! Truthfully, this felt years away... but God made a way! We’d like to invite you to learn more about our new facility as we anticipate breaking ground later this spring!

Join us for a one-hour gathering where we will share an inside look at the building project including floor plans, the vision for the new space, and the meaningful impact this expansion will bring to families throughout our county and beyond. These meetings provide a wonderful opportunity to ask questions, offer feedback, and gain a clearer understanding of how this project strengthens not only Helping Hands, but our entire community.

We’re honored to introduce this year’s Women’s Initiative speaker, Shelly Ivins. She will share her heartfelt and inspiring testimony of a season when everything changed - BUT GOD.

Want to hear her story!? Here are the ways you can be involved:

-You can host, by inviting your own group of women to your home or other location of your choice, groups typically consist of anywhere from 4-25 women! You can host this event anytime the weekend of February 27th - you get to pick. Shelly’s story will be shared through a link for your group to watch together. And everything - from tableware, drinks, appetizers, dessert, and décor are all provided; all you need to do is pick up your hosting kit from Helping Hands 🙂

-Otherwise, you can attend as a guest and we can connect you with a group, or you may even be invited by another woman in our community!
