The truth is, both. 🐝💛
In speech therapy, we often start with imitation to teach new sounds, words, and phrases in a supported way. From there, we build toward spontaneous speech, when your child begins to use those skills independently in real-life moments.

Imitation is the foundation.
Spontaneous speech is the goal.

Every “say it with me” is a step toward “I said it on my own.” ✨
