Sobriety is a gift you give yourself, and everyone who loves you. This season is a powerful reminder of just how far you’ve come.

Whether this is your first sober holiday or one of many, every clear-minded morning, every boundary honored, and every trigger navigated is a win worth celebrating. You’re not “missing out,” you’re showing up fully for your life, present, grounded, and real.

If you’re feeling wobbly, remember: you’ve already proven you can do hard things.

Reach out, lean on your support system, and keep choosing the version of you that feels aligned, healthy, and free. Your future self is already thankful for the choices you’re making today.

The holidays can be beautiful when you’re in recovery. This time of year, your sobriety support system matters more than ever.

→ Why support matters now

Holiday parties, family dynamics, travel, and unstructured time can all increase stress, cravings, and exposure to high-risk situations for those in recovery. A strong, intentional support system can provide stability, accountability, and calm in the middle of the chaos.

→How sober companions help

Sober companions offer one-on-one support in real life, walking beside you through events, travel, and day-to-day routines so you don’t have to white-knuckle it alone. They help you navigate triggers, maintain structure, and stay aligned with your recovery goals while still showing up for the moments that matter.

→Support on your terms

At Next Level Recovery Associates, sober companions provide discreet, personalized support tailored to your lifestyle, schedule, and treatment team. Whether you need short-term help through the holidays or ongoing guidance, you deserve a safety net that meets you where you are.

If this season feels overwhelming, you don’t have to wait for things to get worse, reach out and strengthen your support now.

Non-judgmental care hits different when it comes from someone who’s been there and found a way through.

In Ep. 35 of “From Mayhem to Mindset” with Dr. Laura Ellick, Managing Partner Sarah Frias dives into why individualized care for substance use and eating disorders matters, how art therapy helps clients rewrite their story, and why your creativity doesn’t have to “make sense” to be yours.

From redefining what it means to be an “artist” to inviting more men into the healing power of art therapy, this conversation is all about real, compassionate, no-judgment support.

At Next Level Recovery Associates, we often hear from individuals who are excelling in their careers, caring for their families, and appearing “high-functioning” on the surface, yet privately struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, or disordered eating.

As Managing Partner Sarah shares, “suffering in silence” doesn’t always look like severe dysfunction. It can look like a teacher showing up for class every morning, a parent who handles every responsibility, or a professional who still crosses every task off their list while quietly battling deep sadness, burnout, or weekend binge behaviors.

There is no single picture of what substance use or mental health challenges look like. What matters most is recognizing when you’re not feeling like yourself and reaching out for help.

At Next Level, we offer highly individualized support that bridges clinical treatment and everyday life, helping clients recover privately, safely, and sustainably without judgment or shame.

If you or someone you know relates to this experience, we’re here to help guide you toward lasting recovery.

If nothing changes, nothing changes.

At Next Level Recovery Associates, many of the families served look composed on the outside but are holding everything together by a thread on the inside of addiction, anxiety, secrets, and constant crises that start to feel “normal” even as they are tearing everyone apart. It is DUIs, school issues, strained marriages, overdoses, financial chaos, and a home where survival has quietly replaced joy.

Families and systems do not transform on their own.

People do.

One honest conversation, one decision to ask for support, one carefully guided step can interrupt the pattern and open a new path forward.

Not through dramatic ultimatums or going it alone, but through compassionate, expert guidance, consistent structure, and quiet disruption that makes room for real healing, and a whole lot of love.

WE ARE SORRY…

It’s come to our attention that clients and families working with Next Level Recovery Associates have been experiencing some unexpected side effects: more clarity, calmer days, stronger boundaries, and a renewed sense of hope for the future.

Working with our concierge team means no one has to navigate substance use, mental health challenges, eating disorders, digital addictions, or big life transitions alone, and that level of support tends to change things.

If you’ve noticed yourself saying “no” to chaos, honoring your routine, protecting your peace, or getting more “You seem different… what changed?” messages lately, our bad… but also, that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Creating real, lasting change for individuals and families is the whole point, and we’re more than okay with causing a little transformation along the way.

When addiction and eating disorders overlap, the common thread is often trauma.

Managing Partner Sarah Frias sits down with one of our referral partners, Dr. Laura Ellick, a licensed psychologist and eating disorder and addiction specialist, to unpack the deep connection between substance use and eating disorders—and the shared thinking patterns that drive both.

🎥 They explore:
•Why trauma often underlies both disorders

•How similar thought processes fuel addictive or restrictive behaviors

•The importance of integrated care in treatment and recovery

At Next Level Recovery Associates, we believe true healing starts when we understand the why behind the behavior—and bridge the gap between addiction and eating disorder treatment.
