At Next Level, we honor every story, the ones spoken out loud and the ones carried silently.

Jennette McCurdy’s story sheds light on a painful truth: sometimes the person encouraging your illness is the same person you’ve been taught to trust the most.

She shares how, as a child, she didn’t even know what anorexia was until she overheard her mom and a doctor talking about it. By then, the behaviors were already there: logging every bite of food, strict calorie limits, constant weigh-ins, measuring her thighs, all under the guidance of a parent she adored.

Deep down, Jennette felt that something was wrong. But like so many kids, she shoved that instinct down, telling herself, “Mom would never do that to me.” So she kept giving her mother the benefit of the doubt, even as her own body and mind paid the price.

For many, eating disorders don’t start as a “choice,” they begin in environments of control, fear, and confusion, where love and harm are tangled together. Naming that truth can be the first step toward healing, especially for those who grew up believing their pain didn’t count.

At Next Level, we understand that recovery often means unlearning old patterns, setting new boundaries, and rebuilding a relationship with food, your body, and yourself. You don’t have to untangle it alone.

He proves that even life’s biggest struggles can lead to powerful comebacks.

Zac Efron’s story reminds us that transformation is possible, even when addiction unfolds under the spotlight.

In his early twenties, he turned to alcohol and drugs to cope with pressure and fame, eventually entering rehab in his mid-20s when he realized his substance use had become a serious problem. Years later, he chose sobriety and committed to rebuilding his life with more intention and balance.

His journey shows that honest self-reflection, asking for help, and the courage to start over can lead to healing, growth, and a more grounded life.

If you’re struggling, remember you’re not alone. Every step you take toward recovery is a victory.

Relapse does not erase your progress, and it does not mean you have failed.

It is a signal that something in your recovery plan needs more support, compassion, and structure.

At Next Level Wellness & Behavioral Health, we walk alongside you as you process what happened, rebuild your routines, and reconnect with the tools that keep you grounded in your why. You deserve a recovery plan that fits your real life, not one-size-fits-all advice.

When you are ready to get back on track, our team can help you regain clarity, accountability, and hope with a personalized roadmap so you do not have to figure it out alone.

→ Pause and reach out to someone safe
→ Reflect on what led up to the relapse without judgment
→ Recommit to your recovery plan, even if it is one small step
→ Plug back into therapy, meetings, or coaching

Remember: a setback is not the end of your story.

Ready to get back on track after a relapse? Give us a call at 800-566-2516.

Pete Davidson opens up about his sobriety and the quiet strength behind it, his mom, Amy.

“She never dated after my dad died. Just raised me and my sister alone and worked hard. She’s been the most supportive ever.”

For Pete, that support wasn’t just love, it was a lifeline.

He recalls the moment that broke through his denial: a call from his mom while he was in rehab. Her voice filled with fear, not judgment. “My biggest fear is that I’ll turn on the news and see that my son has died.”

Sobriety often starts in moments like that. When love shines a light on truth. When vulnerability replaces silence. When the people who see us at our lowest refuse to give up hope.

Recovery is rarely easy, but it’s always worth it. It’s choosing to heal, not just for yourself, but for the people who never stopped believing in you.

At Next Level, we’re here to help you take that step with compassion, guidance, and community.
