I personally do not believe in new years resolutions. However, I love a good reset. I do like making a list of the things I’d like to accomplish in the coming year. I also love making a list of things I’m letting go of and then burning it. There’s something very cathartic about that🥰❤️‍🔥

Although I was diagnosed with CPTSD and depression years ago, I strangely rarely ever experience anxiety. I’ve always associated that to the fact that I don’t leave any emotions unsaid. I am physically unable to sit with upsetting feelings. I just can’t internalize. Let me rephrase that – I CAN internalize, but then I have to resolve and process quickly. I think I actually learned to do that because I can’t tolerate the physical feeling of anxiety. So this was an early developed coping mechanism. It just accidentally happened to be a healthy one.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a talker. I go deep. I’m not much for chitchat. I have a real need to make connection with people.

Something about hearing my own voice with my own ears has always seemed to be calming for me. That is not any different when I’m by myself. I talk to the cat. I talk to inanimate objects and I talk to myself. Not constantly, but if I’m feeling something, I say it. Out loud.

Reading about this experiment was very interesting, and also very affirming. What I have naturally done since childhood is probably the one emotional thing that was always healthy about me that I didn’t have to learn from a therapist. Obviously, I’m mentally and emotionally healthy these days because of a lot of work in therapy and a bit of meds.

Almost all of my friends experience anxiety on a somewhat regular basis. I would suggest to you try this. I always suggest therapy - ad nauseum - because I honestly think everyone needs it just to work through the internalized emotions of life. If there’s nothing happening at the moment to cause the anxiety, maybe it would be helpful to go back through emotions you might’ve internalized in other times. EMDR is super helpful for that, alongside of talk therapy…art therapy, music, horse therapy, yoga, getting out in nature, walking barefoot on the Earth… There are as many different ways to process feelings as there are people.

If you’re suffering from anxiety, try talking yourself through it. It’s worth a try. Love y’all🥰🫶🏻✨

I honestly believe that most people who are told by a friend that they love that that person is trans, they would try to understand and they’d still love them. It’s unfortunate that some people need to actually know someone to think that they are a human, but I guess that’s what we’re working with.

What a beautiful friendship, and kind, compassionate friend Will Farrell is. I can’t wait to see this. We need so much more understanding and compassion in this world right now❤️‍🩹

Can we all agree to stop using filters when there’s a child or a baby in pictures? I’m going to include your boyfriends and husbands as well, because they all look ridiculous when you have a heavy beauty filter on a picture of you all.

YOU don’t even look like you🤷🏻‍♀️
I can only think that by using these filters you think you look better. That just isn’t the case. I love you so much but I have to say this. Those heavy editing filters are cartoonish and unrealistic. I see so many beautiful women using these and looking bizarre.

Trust those of us who love you when we tell you that you don’t need all that. So when you’re doing it to your kid, be aware of the message that you’re giving them…

“I have to be perfect & I am not enough as I am.” And of course, “I’m not pretty enough. “ Enough for WHAT, exactly?

Please give them a fighting chance to feel like they’re enough by setting the example. And also to let them know that pretty does not = worthy.

Your children depend on you, and your opinion of them. They assimilate what they see SO much more than they listen to your words.

Please commit to at least keeping the filters off of them. It would be great if you could all refrain too so that those of us who love you can see your beautiful faces🥰
