📵 Hear us out, parents. This one is worth the scroll.
The single most common thing we talk about in our office that ISN'T about being sick? Screens before bed. And we get it — after a long day, handing over a tablet buys you 20 minutes of peace. We're not here to judge. We're here to tell you what it's costing your kid.

Here's what the research shows:
📱 Under 18–24 months — no screen time at all (video calls with family are the exception)!
🌙 All ages — screens within 1 hour of bedtime block melatonin production, making it significantly harder to fall asleep and stay asleep
😤 The bedtime battles you're fighting? A screen-free wind-down routine is one of the most effective ways to end them

You don't have to do it perfectly. Start with one night. Move the charger out of the bedroom. Put on an audiobook instead. Small shifts make a real difference.
You've got this — and we've got you. 💙

reminds us good oral health starts at a young age, and you should start cleaning your kid’s teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste as soon as the first tooth appears to help prevent the formation of cavities.

It’s easy for screen use to feel out of control and overwhelming. Here’s a quick tip to help your child develop healthier digital habits. Creating “tech free” zones helps make sure that screens aren’t crowding out valuable in-person interactions.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a day we remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a leader who worked to make sure everyone was treated fairly and with kindness, no matter what they looked like.

💙 Why Is It Important?
Dr. King taught people to use peaceful words and actions to stand up for what’s right. He believed in helping others, being kind, and making the world a better place for everyone.

👨‍👩‍👧 How Parents Can Explain It to Kids:
“Dr. King helped people learn that being kind, fair, and respectful is the right thing to do.”

Today, we honor his message by being kind, helping others, and standing up for fairness.

Meet Us

From the time you are rocking your babies until they roll off to college we provide a high touch, high tech approach that partners physicians and parents in the care of their children. Whether a child is in our office for routine care or in times of critical illness, our goal is to provide the best technology and information available, combined with a warm personal touch that will be long remembered by parent and child alike. Pediatric Partners is your child's medical home where we provide comprehensive and complete care; coordinating your child's needs for physical, behavioral, emotional and developmental needs. We are able to provide most services within our "medical home" but when necessary will oversee appropriate referrals to specialists.

It was the belief in these tenets that led Dr. Gerald Kilpatrick and Dr. Tommy Schechtman to establish Pediatric Partners in 1998, creating a practice that provides parents with a choice in health care that combines exceptional medical expertise and innovation in an atmosphere of compassion and collaboration.

While the focus of our practice is to first and foremost provide cutting edge, up-to-date medical care to children from birth through adolescence, every interaction is consistent with the belief that physicians and parents are partners in the care of a child.

Parents are the primary providers of their children's health care and should be empowered to succeed in that role. Therefore, we are ready to assist parents with the challenges and rewards of raising children. By emphasizing preventive health care and early identification of problems we hope to create a foundation on which children can build a lifelong history of good health habits.
