2025 Annual Rales JFS Gala: An Evening in Monte Carlo Highlights
On December 11, Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) hosted its Annual Gala at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton. Over 400 guests came together for an unforgettable night of celebration, connection, and impact!

Honorees:
Harriet & Ed Levine – Rales Humanitarians of the Year
Richard Steinberg / Focus Partners – Corporate Leadership Award

Guests enjoyed a lavish cocktail hour with roulette, blackjack, a silent auction, and even a magician! The ballroom transformed into Monte Carlo for an exquisite dinner, live jazz by the FAU Trio, and inspiring stories of how JFS changes lives.
“This evening is more than a celebration—it’s a testament to the power of community coming together to make a difference,” said Danielle Hartman, President & CEO.

Every dollar raised helps create miracles for individuals and families who rely on our support. Thank you to our incredible co-chairs and everyone who joined us in spreading light and hope!

This fifth night brings the delicious traditions of latkes and sufganiyot - foods fried in oil to honor the Hanukkah miracle of the oil. JFS celebrates that same spirit of nourishment by providing vital food services that help ensure our neighbors can enjoy holiday meals and daily sustenance with dignity. The Jacobson Family Food Pantry delivers non-perishable groceries, fresh fruits and vegetables every other week, free of charge, to those experiencing food insecurity. We also have many clients who come to shop in the pantry every other week. Founded in 1996, the mission of the Food Pantry is to ensure that no individual or family in our community goes hungry.

We're celebrating 15 incredible years at the Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center! 💜

For a decade and a half, this special place has been a source of support, joy, and enrichment for our vibrant 60+ community, all made possible by generous donors, dedicated volunteers, and the amazing people who walk through our doors every day.

On Tuesday, December 16th, on what would have been Bart Weisman's (z"l) 98th birthday, members of the Weisman Center gathered togather for a wonderful celebration, honoring the 15 years since the center opened its doors. The holiday of Hanukkah was also celebrated, with tables decorated with beautiful menorahs, dreidels, and cholocate gelt. After special introductions and messages from the Weisman Family, President & CEO Danille Hartman, Board Chair Rick Paul, and Diane & Larry Feldman (Feldman Family Clubs) attendees enjoyed some Broadway and Hanukkah music and then a lovely sit down lunch.

Here’s to the next 15 years of connection, compassion, and community. 🎉

Earlier this week, 33 volunteers arrived at the Jacobson Family Food Pantry with one mission in mind: Spread some holiday cheer! Simone Karp and friends spent their day assembling 700 Hanukkah meal packages and then delivered them with care to 350 households. Each household received matzo ball soup, potato latkes, applesauce, chocolate gelt, custom menorah cookies, nut mix, and dreidels. Thanks to the generosity of Judy Levis Krug, our neighbors in need know that they are cared for and can enjoy the traditions that make this season so special. Together, we proved that when a commuity comes together, miracles can happen, one meal, one smile, and one act of kindness at a time. Thank you to all who helped make this possible.

Tonight, the dreidel reminds us of a great miracle and the joy of coming together. The dreidel letters (Nun, Gimel, Hei, Shin) stand for “A great miracle happened there,” offering a playful reminder of resilience and hope woven into our tradition. In that same spirit, JFS brings our community together through programs that support children and families, creating spaces where learning, connection, and joy can flourish.

Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) recently hosted its annual Café Europa at B’nai Torah Congregation, welcoming more than 150 Holocaust Survivors from Boca Raton and Delray Beach for a festive Hanukkah celebration.
Guests enjoyed traditional foods like latkes and jelly doughnuts, lively music, and dancing that filled the room with warmth and light. Among the attendees were three centenarians, including one incredible Survivor who is 103 years old, a true testament to resilience and hope.
This cherished event is made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of Jill Viner, whose mother was a Holocaust Survivor. Jill shared:
“It gives me great pleasure to show these remaining Survivors how truly treasured they are to the community. They are my heroes and my strength.”
💙 Café Europa reminds us of the power of unity, tradition, and community.
