Today is National Caregiver Day. Taking care of individuals with dementia and other chronic conditions can be challenging. Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) offers caregiver education, support and well-deserved respite to help sustain them. Educational topics include home safety, community resources, and strategies in dealing with difficult emotions. Support sessions are currently being offered online four times per week. Our program is free of charge thanks to program funding from the Area Agency on Aging and the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

As one participant shared, “This support group has provided me with emotional and practical support, reduced my feelings of isolation, and offered a safe space to share experiences and strategies.”
If you or someone you know could benefit from this kind of connection, reach out to learn more. Call Alex Chernis at (561) 558‑2542 or text AlexCh@ralesjfs.org.

February marks National Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month, a moment to shine a light on an issue that touches far more teens than many people realize. Across the United States, one out of every three young people experiences some form of dating violence — and most never tell anyone what they’re facing.
Emotional and digital abuse are the most frequently reported, underscoring how essential it is to create safe spaces for real conversations and to help teens recognize that they are worthy of relationships built on respect, trust, and care.
At Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS), we are dedicated to building a community where every young person feels safe, supported, and heard. If you or someone you care about needs guidance or a confidential place to talk, JFS is here to help.
Call (561) 852-5099 or visit https://ralesjfs.org/our-services/family-and-children/ for support.
No one should face this alone, and reaching out can be an important step toward safety and healing.

Turning 100 is a major milestone for anyone. But imagine celebrating your 103rd and 104th birthdays—and doing it with joy, independence, and plenty of sparkle!
That’s exactly what Trudy and Ruth recently did.
Trudy, age 103, still teaches a beloved class called The Ladies Room at the Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center. She continues to live independently with support from her aide and several services provided by Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS).
When asked her secret to a long, healthy life, Trudy shared,
“I am growing older and growing bolder. I’m very grateful to continue to teach and exercise my mind every day.”
She’s even writing poetry she hopes to publish soon!
Ruth, age 104, also lives independently with the help of an aide and JFS services. She and Trudy both receive Meals on Wheels, along with grocery deliveries from the Jacobson Family Food Pantry. Ruth arrived at her birthday celebration in a sparkly red top and a tiara, truly the queen of the day!
These remarkable women remind us that with community support, purpose, and a vibrant spirit, aging can be filled with dignity, independence, and joy.
Happy birthdays, Trudy and Ruth! May you continue to inspire us all.

Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) recently enjoyed two moments that brought plenty of smiles to our campus. Our team joined Sharsheret’s Wear Pink initiative to raise awareness for breast cancer, creating a sense of unity and support throughout the day.

The Good Vibe Tribe arranged for a visit from the doggos of Canine Assisted Therapy. The kissing booth quickly became a staff favorite!
When friends and fur come together, the smiles take over, and the photos prove it, including one of a very sleepy pup who decided the floor was the perfect place for break. These experiences reminded us how uplifting it can be to share joy and care with one another!
