Contact lenses should not be exposed to water, including in the shower.

Tap water can contain microorganisms that may adhere to the lens and become trapped against the surface of the eye, increasing the risk of irritation and potentially serious infection.

For proper lens hygiene and eye health, contacts should always be removed before showering or swimming.

Most people think you have to wait until cataracts affect your vision before doing anything… but that’s actually not true.

There’s a procedure called Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE) that allows you to replace your natural lens before cataracts even develop. It’s essentially the same concept as cataract surgery, just done earlier, before your vision declines.

One of the biggest perks? Many patients are able to significantly reduce or even eliminate their need for glasses or contacts.
