Building my own practice means working 7 days a week — and honestly, it’s worth every minute.

It gives me the freedom to spend more time with my patients, to really listen, to think through cases and to provide the kind of personalized care I always envisioned. Quality care takes time, and I’m grateful I get to structure my days in a way that prioritizes that.

To my amazing patients — thank you for trusting me and allowing me to care for you. Your support means everything, and it’s the reason I show up every single day.

Working all day today… but starting the morning with coffee and my havapoo makes it pretty perfect. ☕🐾

I had a wonderful evening volunteering last night at the Breakthrough T1D Palm Beach Gala. Gary Forbes spoke openly about the challenges of living with Type 1 Diabetes while competing at the highest level as an NBA player. 🏀His journey was an inspiring reminder that living with T1D does not define limits—it reveals strength. When my patient texted me last night and said “Lauri I threw up and I think I have the stomach flu”, I immediately asked her to check urine for ketones. She did not have the stomach flu, she was going into DKA. Thankfully she went to the ED, received IV fluids and was fine. Please 🙏 know the Symptoms of DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)

DKA is a serious, life-threatening complication of diabetes that needs urgent attention.
Don’t ignore the signs!

⚠️ Common Symptoms:
• High blood sugar that doesn’t come down
• Nausea or vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Deep, rapid breathing
• Fruity or sweet breath odor
• Extreme thirst or dry mouth
• Frequent urination
• Fatigue or confusion

If you notice these symptoms—check for ketones and seek medical care immediately.
