Here are the top worst candies to have at Halloween:

If it has sugar it is not good for your teeth! You don’t want sugar to sit on the teeth of your little smile for any length of time. After 20-30 minutes bacteria in the mouth starts to break down the sugar, releasing acids. Acid weakens enamel causing weak spots that are the first sign of tooth decay. If you can’t brush your teeth right away keep a water bottle with you and swish water around your mouth to eliminate as much sugar as you can.

Is your little smile back into routine yet? Start the school year off with a good oral hygiene routine! Brushing in the morning and the evening is great, but if you can get your little smile to squeeze an extra one in after school it would be ideal! Make sure to pack a lunch with fruits, veggies, cheese, yogurt and WATER! Limit sugary snacks and drinks as much as possible.

DON’T LET YOUR DENTAL ROUTINE GO ON SUMMER VACATION!

During summer time kids tend to snack more often than when they are in school. Here are some tips to keep your little smile on track! * Stock your fridge and pantry with healthy snacks and drinks. 🍑🍓🍌🥑🥜🥦
* Encourage and remind your child to brush and floss!
* DRINK WATER! Not only does it help your child stay hydrated on hot Texas days, but it also washes away leftover food and bacteria. 💦💧 Last, but certainly not least, make sure to schedule your child’s 6 month check-up!
