1. Some may not know that Mary Lynn Palmer is still seeing patients. She is in office Mondays through Thursdays and taking things one day at a time, getting stronger and stronger.

Meet Mary Lynn Palmer

Mary Lynn Palmer is a lifelong resident of Bogata, Texas and a proud graduate of Rivercrest High School.

After earning her nursing degree from NTCC in 1996, Mary Lynn worked for over 20 years at Titus Regional Medical Center, primarily in Labor & Delivery and the Women’s Clinic. From 1996-2002, she also served patients through the McKellar/Moore clinic in Mount Pleasant. In 2004, she obtained her nurse practitioner license from UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Mary Lynn was a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner from 2004-2015, offering care to victims across the area. In 2012, she brought healthcare home to Bogata, first through the Higgins Clinic and then by opening Bogata Health Clinic, her own private practice, in 2013.

Mary Lynn is currently battling metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to her spine and left femur. She is currently on Verzenio, which is $14,697.81 per month—and her insurance is refusing coverage. She also receives Fulvestrant injections every 2-4weeks, costing $1,500 per round of injections, and bone-strengthening infusions at $401 each.

Outside of her career, Mary Lynn is a devoted wife to Kenneth Palmer, proud mom of six, loving grandmother to ten, and member of the Bogata Missionary Baptist Church.

So people have been asking what the Benefit is all about. Its about giving back to the ones who need help. We know there are many in need and thats our goal. To help as many as we can. We have chosen for the first Play It Forward concert to help a very special person that I grew up with and went to school with. You can read about her and her story on the Play it Forward page. We are already making plans and dates to continue this event each year here in Mount Pleasant. We want to make it a music weekend with local and name bands coming in. We want to help different organizations that need help. Each concert our committee will choose and different one to help. If you want to be apart of this committee you can reach out to us also. It will be open to the public. We are asking y’all to help us kick this benefit off to a good start of great things to come to Mount Pleasant and our surrounding communities.
