With all of this crazy weather going on here is some info I wanted to share with you!

🌳 When Trees Take a Tumble: Who Pays What?
Storms can be wild, and when trees start falling, it’s easy to wonder: “Is this covered by insurance?” Let’s break it down in plain English so you know exactly what to expect.
1️⃣ Your tree falls in your yard… but doesn’t hit anything.
👉 Sorry, no insurance magic here. It’s just you, a chainsaw, and maybe a weekend project.
2️⃣ Your tree falls on your house.
👉 Good news: your homeowners policy steps in! It’ll cover the damage and even some of the tree removal costs (but only the part on the house). Remember, your deductible applies—so weigh the damage before filing a claim.
3️⃣ Your tree falls into your neighbor’s yard… no damage.
👉 No insurance involved. Just grab your gloves or hire a crew. Bonus points for being a good neighbor and helping out.
4️⃣ Your tree falls into your neighbor’s yard and damages their house, shed, or car.
👉 Surprisingly, it’s their insurance that covers the damage. Falling trees from wind aren’t considered negligence unless you ignored a known hazard. Still, offering to help with their deductible is a great way to keep the peace.
5️⃣ Neighbor’s tree falls into your yard… no damage.
👉 Same as #3, but reversed. Time to return the favor and keep things friendly.
6️⃣ Neighbor’s tree falls on your house, shed, or car.
👉 Your insurance covers it. For cars, it’s a comprehensive claim—not “at fault.” That means no penalty like if you’d hit something while driving.
🌟 Quick Tips
• No damage = no coverage. Cleanup is always on the property owner.
• Damage = your own insurance. Each person’s policy covers their property.
• Vehicles = comprehensive claim. Not chargeable, not your fault.
• Negligence matters. If a tree was clearly dangerous and ignored, liability could shift.
