Today's card is the 8 of cups. I also had the 8 of wands at the bottom of the deck, so it looks like we are working through the 8's!
With this card, our crow has turned her back on all of the shiny material gains she has and is moving forward to find what she really desires.
While it is sometimes difficult to take big leaps that risk the security we have built for ourselves, sometimes it is necessary in order find our fulfillment.
We can also see the moon shining down on our path on this card. The moon is often a symbol for a "darkness" in our past. The idea of shadow work is rooted in psychology, but has been a common term in spiritual circles lately. This may be an indication of some issue to be worked through, whether it can be done healthily through journaling and meditation, or if it would be wise to consider counseling.
Often, the most effective way to move forward is to address the past. Closing some doors before you can travel through new ones.
