Scoliosis bracing?

First X-ray is a double thoracolumbar and lumbar scoliosis. These curves have a high chance of progression with growth remaining in this 12 year old girl.

Second X-ray is the same girl wearing a scoliosis brace that was prescribed to her for the remaining growing years of her life.

Scolibrace is a customized scoliosis brace for children, teens and adults of all ages worn to stabilize and correct scoliosis.

Bracing is prescribed when the Cobb angle is above 30°, and when a curve has the chance of profession in the future. This brace is custom fit to correct posture and spinal structure. The brace is based on your X-rays and multiple 3D body scans.

Discreet and comfortable, it can
be worn under clothes without notice.

We are extending our free scoliosis screenings for scoliosis awareness month to the first week of July. We offer these free screenings once a year to raise awareness for scoliosis- a very common spinal deformity that affects about 1 in 18 kids! Don't forget that it also affects nearly 1 in 3 aging adults as well.

This life-affecting condition has many treatment options for those that catch it early through a simple screening! Early intervention and prompt treatment leads to the best results with scoliosis.

Adult degenerative scoliosis?

It might surprise you that adults are one of the groups in our community most affected by scoliosis. In over 60 years of age, scoliosis rates can be as high as 36% and 50% of the population over 90 years of age (McAviney et al, 2020).
For older adults, scoliosis can cause discomfort or pain and affect their body appearance and ability to do some everyday things.
Do you or an adult you know have scoliosis?

Why ‘Scoliosis Awareness’ is more than just knowing about the Cobb angle

When a patient is diagnosed with scoliosis they often hear a lot of new clinical terms related to symptoms, treatment, and one in particular, the ‘Cobb angle’. The ‘Cobb angle’ (or ‘size of the curve’) is an important measurement sign of scoliosis, particularly for adolescents as they move through a growth phase.

Have you noticed a change in a child or loved one?

Regular checks for signs of scoliosis can lead to early detection and better opportunities for treatment. Use the cues in the image as a guide for early warning signs.

Subtle signs you may notice are:

- One shoulder higher than the other
- One shoulder blade more prominent than the other
- One hip or waist indent appears higher than the other
- A visible S or C curve shape in the back

Don’t watch and wait, make sure you see a scoliosis professional should you notice a change.

We had a blast over the weekend with our crew of Girls on the Run Treasure Valley on their big spring season event. 🏅👟 We got active by running a 5k with the girls and families of the Willowcreek team. 🏃‍♀️

This after-school program for 3rd-5th grade girls creatively combines physical activity with life skills designed to build character, enhance social-emotional health, and promote an active lifestyle in young girls. 🙌🏻 They run the Fall and Spring season every year, if you are considering supporting, sponsoring, or volunteering.

⭐️ Correction of the Month ⭐️

Swipe ➡️ to see Landon’s incredible results 🙌🏻. Landon came to see us for chronic upper back pain and shoulder pain that started after a motorcycle crash as a kid almost 10 years ago

Our extensive, non-surgical rehab protocols allow for true spine correction. Our conservative approach allows patients to get relief and correction through mirror-image exercises, adjustments, and corrective spine traction utilizing Chiropractic Biophyscis (CBP). Better structure equates to better function.

⬆️ Better posture
⬆️ Energy
⬆️ Mobility

⬇️ Upper back pain
⬇️ Shoulder pain
⬇️ Low back pain

Congratulations Landon 🎉🎉

Scoliosis Bracing

Do you know someone with scoliosis who has been told to "wait and see" if it gets worse? In many cases this ends up being very poor advice. Prompt treatment leads to much better results.

For larger curves, or curves with a high chance of progression, a scoliosis brace is recommended to stabilize the spine and also get correction.

For smaller curves, in-office scoliosis specific exercises and rehab are recommended for correction.

In adults and older adults with scoliosis, a brace can provide stability and prevent progression later in life when structural stability of the spine decreases.

65% of people get neck pain and 85% of people get low back pain. Together, these symptoms account for the vast majority of patients seeking chiropractic care.

No one should have to tolerate persistent back pain. Frequently, once the true underlying SOURCE of the pain is identified, proper treatment can lead to long-term resolution of your symptoms. At Optimal Spine & Posture in Boise, ID, we provide a customized solution to your back pain, based on its underlying cause and the kinds of symptoms you’re experiencing.

Instead of just helping you cope with the symptoms you may be experiencing, when we get to treat the underlying cause, you’ll notice a significant reduction in your pain or discomfort level, and in many cases it will be entirely eliminated.

Probably the biggest improvement you will notice is that you have a much-improved quality of life. You will be able to play with the kids or grandkids without pain or limitation. You will wake up in the morning feeling energized and free from morning stiffness and pain. You will go to work and feel productive and positively engaging with your coworkers. Your quality of life will be where it is supposed to be!
