"Hormonal imbalance during perimenopause and menopause is often reduced to a collection of symptoms: vasomotor instability, sleep disruption, mood changes, cognitive fog, and shifts in body composition. In reality, these changes reflect broader alterations in endocrine signaling and systemic regulation.

Our s*x hormones do not function in isolation. Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, cortisol, thyroid hormones, and insulin exist within a complex feedback network that influences neurologic function, metabolic efficiency, musculoskeletal integrity, and inflammatory response. When ovarian hormone production declines, the downstream effects are often widespread and highly individualized.

Understanding this physiologic context is essential when considering evidence-based interventions, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT)."
