This year I wanted our Thanksgiving table to start with something that actually means something… so we chose a local, pastured, heritage turkey raised right here in Idaho. 🦃✨

A bird that lived in real sunshine.
Ate real, corn/soy-free feed.
Roamed on actual grass.
And was raised by a family who cares deeply about the animals they steward.

Factory farming changed the way most people think turkey “should” taste. Fast-growing breeds, cheap feed, no sunshine, no movement. But when you choose pastured + heritage, you get the opposite: richer nutrients, better fats, deeper flavor, and a bird raised the way God intended.

And honestly? Supporting local farmers during the holidays just feels right. Our dollars stay in the community, and our meals carry a story worth sharing.

If you want the info for the farm I bought from, comment “turkey” I’m happy to share. 🤍

Everyone’s obsessed with tallow right now… but I reach for palm fruit oil 👀

Don’t get me wrong - I love tallow. It’s a nourishing, traditional fat that has earned its place back in our kitchens. But when it comes to frying, I’ve found palm fruit oil just performs better.

Tallow tends to foam, get a little messy, and leave that light film on your tongue.. especially after a few rounds of fries or donuts. Palm fruit oil stays smooth, stable, and neutral in flavor every time.

It holds up to heat beautifully, doesn’t oxidize easily, and gives you crisp, golden results without that greasy finish.

So no - this isn’t a “ditch tallow” post. It’s a use-the-right-fat-for-the-job post. ❤️

We’ve already left seed oils behind - now we’re just fine-tuning!

If you want to try clean, organic and sustainable palm fruit - comment "palm" to get the link!

Have you tried palm fruit yet?

Let’s talk about what’s actually hiding in your pantry 👀

Seed oils like canola, sunflower, safflower, and soybean are chemically extracted using heat, pressure, and solvents.
By the time they reach your kitchen, they’re already oxidized and stripped of nutrients.
Once heated, they break down even more. Forming free radicals linked to inflammation, hormone disruption, and poor gut health.

Palm fruit oil is different. It’s a natural, minimally processed fat that stays stable under heat and brings nutrients with it.
It’s been used traditionally for centuries, not invented in a factory.

Heat-stable + neutral → perfect for frying
Balanced fat profile → supports hormones + energy
Vitamin E + CoQ10 → antioxidant support

You can still enjoy fries, donuts, and fried chicken! Just made with ingredients that love you back.

Comment “palmfruit” and I’ll DM you the link to the one I use.

“Nourishing food doesn’t mean restriction - it means restoration.”

We’ve been taught to label entire foods as “junk” sweets, fried foods, bread. When the truth is, it’s not the food that’s the problem.
It’s the ingredients!

🍪 𝙎𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣’𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙮.
Your body knows what to do with real sugar. Honey, maple syrup, cane sugar. The problem is when those treats are filled with seed oils, dyes, and synthetic sweeteners. When you bake with organic flour, grass-fed butter, and simple ingredients, a cookie becomes nourishment, not guilt.

🍟 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮, 𝙩𝙤𝙤.
For generations, families fried in tallow, palm fruit oil or coconut oil. Stable, nourishing fats that actually support your hormones and brain. It wasn’t until industrial seed oils (canola, soy, sunflower) took over that fried foods became inflammatory. Switch the oil, and suddenly fried food becomes real food again.

🍞 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙?
Real bread is ancient.
It was never meant to come in plastic or to be fortifed with synthetic supplements.
Freshly milled flour, water, salt, and wild yeast.. that’s it. Long fermentation unlocks nutrients, breaks down gluten, and brings it back to life.

Because food was never meant to harm you.
It was meant to heal you.

You don’t need to restrict nourishing food..
you just need to relearn what real food actually is. 🌾

So often, people think “holistic” means complicated, expensive, or extreme. But really - it’s about going back to the basics God already designed for us. Whole foods, natural rhythms, mindful choices, and the understanding that every part of us is connected. 🌱

This is my why.. now I’d love to hear yours! Drop it in the comments, and let’s encourage each other to keep choosing the better way.💛

There’s something sacred about real bread.
The kind that rises slowly. That smells like home.
That doesn’t leave your body feeling heavy or inflamed.

That’s why I don’t bake with modern wheat.
I choose ancient and heritage grains - like Einkorn, Turkey Red, Red Fife, White Sonora, and Pima Club - because they connect us to the past and nourish us in the present.

These grains haven’t been tampered with. They’re rich in nutrients, gentle on digestion, and full of character.
And when we let sourdough do its slow work?
It becomes more than just food. It becomes a ritual. A reminder to slow down, to care for our bodies, and to honor where our food comes from.

You can taste the difference.
And if you’ve ever felt bloated, tired, or frustrated by modern bread - you’ll feel the difference too.

I invite you to experience bread the way it was meant to be because fast and fake won't nourish you.
