The Meet the Fleet Event at Friedman Airport stands out as one of the largest public showcases in Blaine County, offering a unique opportunity for Air St. Luke’s to represent itself. Displaying our dual engine Bell 429 helicopter alongside other flight companies' aircraft provided an eye-opening experience for community members and EMS providers.👀

Our crew appreciated the time spent with the community, airport staff, and local EMS agencies present at the event. Special thanks to our ASL4 crew members Sam S. and Michael B. for their dedication and engagement with families, showcasing our capabilities and emphasizing the value Air St. Luke’s brings to the region. The excitement was clear as kids had the chance to sit in the helicopter, try on helmets, and explore the aircraft, making it a huge hit.🚁😄

Joining in on the fun, our Air St. Luke’s ASL4 crew showcased their imagination and creativity in the Wood River Medical Center pumpkin carving contest. Michael Boughton, Landon Nistler, and Ian McCreary participated, with Mike utilizing his “fine rotor skills” (pun intended) to transform this pumpkin into a Bell 429 spectacle, dubbing it the Pumpkin Chopper.🎃🚁

The crew enjoyed team bonding with the hospital staff and shared a few laughs during the event. We are truly grateful to be serving the Wood River community this season.

As part of Idaho’s only Maternal Child Transport Team (MatCh), Air St. Luke’s Respiratory Therapists (RTs) are experts in airway and ventilator management. During Respiratory Care Week, we take this opportunity to recognize and honor the remarkable contributions of our RT crew members at Air St. Luke’s.

RTs play a crucial role in the emergency medical services (EMS) field, aiding in critical care transport and patient stabilization. They manage complex respiratory conditions and deliver essential life-saving care to those in need. Whether caring for infants or supporting critical care patients, RTs are on the front lines, making a significant impact on improving and saving lives.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work.✈️ 🚁 🚑🩺💕

Another successful backcountry rescue mission by ASL4 🚁in Wood River Valley! This week, our team swiftly responded to a call at Swede Peak, collaborating with Blaine County South Fire and Rescue to assist a hunter with a broken leg. The challenging terrain, perched over 8,000 feet high, required precise coordination and teamwork.

Our Air St. Luke’s Bell 429 rotor proved its excellence once again, designed specifically for Idaho’s rugged terrain. Skillfully navigating the narrow trail, our pilot Bernie Moen safely landed the aircraft near the patient, ensuring a prompt response to the emergency.

In partnership with BC South, our dedicated crew Flight Paramedic Sam Schwab and Flight Nurse Mindy Moriarty located the injured individual, provided immediate care to alleviate pain, immobilized the limb, and facilitated a safe descent alongside the patient's sons. Subsequently, the individual was transferred to EIRMC for thorough medical assessment, guaranteeing proximity to family for ongoing support.
