If you had questions after our previous reel,
“If there was a test that showed ADHD, would you take it?”
this post is the beginning of that conversation 💛
ADHD is often talked about in terms of behaviors.
Focus. Impulsivity. Big emotions. Constant motion.
But what many families are never shown is why those struggles are happening in the first place.
Attention, emotional regulation, and impulse control are all connected to how the nervous system is functioning 🧠 When the nervous system is under chronic stress, the brain has a harder time organizing information and responding calmly.
That does not mean something is broken.
It means the body is asking for support 🤍
According to the CDC, about 11.4% of children in the U.S. between ages 3 to 17 have been diagnosed with ADHD. Many experts also believe girls and quieter children are often underdiagnosed. This tells us one important thing. Awareness matters.
When we understand ADHD more deeply, we can stop blaming behavior and start supporting regulation 🌱
This is why traditional checklists and surveys often fall short. They track what we see, but they do not measure what is happening inside the brain and nervous system.
At Summit Life Chiropractic in Boise, we use neurological CLA INSiGHT scans to look at how the nervous system is regulating, adapting, and communicating. These scans help us understand patterns of stress and where support may be needed so care can be personalized rather than generalized ✨
For our Treasure Valley families who are searching for answers, we would love to walk this journey with you.
If you are outside of Idaho, you can also find a PXDocs provider near you through the PXDocs directory (link in bio) 🌍
This is not about labeling. It is about understanding. And understanding creates space for real improvement.
If this helped you, save this post or share it with someone who has been asking the same questions 💛
