Kenya Kids, previously Kenya Child Sponsorship at Eastwind Community Church in Boise, Idaho has partnered with Touch Africa Children Education Programme (TACEP), a Kenyan based nonprofit organization to help advance the education possibilities for children. Building on a partnership established during our first mission trip to Kenya in 2008, the two organizations have joined together to focus on an impoverished population near Kaloleni in Kenya. Education is a significant privilege for the less fortunate, vulnerable or orphaned children. We started a child education sponsorship program at Eastwind, to allow people like you the opportunity to provide funds for these children, so they can enjoy all the benefits of attending school. This outreach program is open to anyone interested in sponsoring a child’s education regardless of whether or not you attend Eastwind. At Eastwind “outreach” means just that... reaching out to others... through others. A monthly sponsorship of $35.00 (or just $1.15 a day) covers five basic needs; needs we too often take for granted: supervision by Touch Africa, private school fees and tuition, school uniforms, a lunch program and medical check-ups. Kenya Kids has been a true blessing in Asmin’s life.

She joined our sponsorship program in 2012 and went on to graduate college in 2022 with a degree in Hospitality Management. Since then, Asmin has worked in several businesses, but she has found her greatest joy as a cake decorator for a supermarket in Mombasa, Kenya. She also runs her own home business, baking and selling delicious donuts and beautifully decorated cakes.

We are deeply grateful to her sponsors, Carrie and John Kirkpatrick, for making this journey possible.
