Today, we shine a light on menopause and the journey every woman experiences. Let’s break the stigma, share knowledge, and support each other through this natural transition!

Allow me to share more on this topic that I am so passionate about! Menopause is a natural phase in every woman's life, and navigating it can be easier with the right tools. Here are a few tips:

- Stay Active: Regular exercise can help manage symptoms and boost your mood.
- Eat Well: Focus on a balanced diet rich in calcium and vitamin D to support bone health.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to alleviate dryness and help with hot flashes.
- Connect: Don’t hesitate to talk to friends, family, or healthcare professionals about what you’re experiencing.

Together, let’s empower each other through this journey! 💖

From the moment you walk into my doors, I’m ready to listen. I pause, hear your concerns, and mentally and physically note what you’re telling me before a single game plan is made. I want to hear from your words what you’re experiencing, not dive into a diagnosis or treatment based on what I see. You know your body best. Thank you for allowing me to work WITH you to find solutions and support. ❤️

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀
As a women’s health practitioner, I’m here to remind you to prioritize your health and schedule those important screenings.

Also, it’s important to know your normal so you can take action if changes occur! I recommend to all women that you perform monthly self breast exams at the same time of the month (especially for those experiencing a regular) as this is one of the best ways to be aware of any changes.

Keep reading to know when to notify your healthcare provider!

- Breast lump or mass, hard or soft, may or may not be painful
- Lump/swelling under arm or around the collarbone
- Skin irritation, dimpling, itching, or swelling of part of the breast or ni**le
- Breast or ni**le pain or ni**le turning inward
- Redness, scaliness, or thickening of ni**le or breast skin
- Ni**le discharge other than breast milk

As always, I’m here to help you take action against any health concern you have! 🌼

🌸 September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 🌸 As a women’s health provider, I urge everyone to educate themselves about the symptoms and risk factors of ovarian cancer. Early detection can save lives!

While there are not any screenings for Ovarian Cancer, the following are symptoms to be aware of:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding (especially post menopause) or vaginal discharge that is abnormal
- Pain/pressure in pelvic area
- Abdominal/back pain
- Bloating
- Feeling full quickly or difficulty eating very much

Let’s spread awareness, support research, and empower women with the knowledge they need to take charge of their health. Message me for more information!

*Kimberly Watson, NP Book Recommendation!* Looking for a health resource for gut health and your metabolism? I’ve got one for you!

Metabolism Repair for Women by Lara Briden ND is "a compassionate, science-based guide to balancing insulin, losing weight, and improving health." I really liked this book because it describes the ins and outs of insulin resistance and other metabolism "wreckers'' that women often struggle with. It also offers step-by-step ways to troubleshoot those issues and suggestions for how to repair the body’s metabolism.

You can grab this resource on Amazon or your local bookstore. DM me for the link and I’d love to share more of my thoughts! 🌼

Understanding insulin resistance is key to managing our health! The following factors increase insulin resistance and should be carefully managed to avoid the negative side effects of insulin resistance:

- Stress! Stress triggers the fight or flight response and increases cortisol and glucose!
- Lack of sleep! Strive for 7-9 hours consistently for overall improved health!
- Microbiome dysbiosis! If experiencing gut issues, consider getting in for a GI Map test to further evaluate and assist in working against insulin resistance.
- Endocrine disrupting chemicals. BPA is a huge one and is found in lots of day-to-day items such as reusable water bottles, baby bottles, food storage containers, cash register receipts, and food can linings. By changing up your products, you can avoid health issues.

Still have questions about insulin resistance? I’d be happy to help you understand and improve your health! 🌼
