Your provider is there to support your birth—not control it.
Somewhere along the way, so many women were taught to stay quiet, not ask too many questions, and simply trust whatever they were told. But informed consent means more than nodding along. It means understanding your options, asking questions, and knowing that you have the right to say yes—or no.
Hospital policy is not the same as medical necessity.
Your provider brings medical expertise. You bring intuition, values, and the right to make decisions for your body and your baby.
A good provider won’t be threatened by your questions—they’ll welcome them.
You are not difficult.
You are informed.
You are not non-compliant.
You are advocating.
Because your provider works for you—not the other way around.
