Feeling sick with Flu or Norovirus? Here’s what to do!

Both illnesses hit fast—protect yourself and others:
- Stay home if you’re sick (return only after 24 hours fever-free without meds)
- Rest and drink plenty of fluids
- Wash hands often with soap & water (20 seconds!)
- Disinfect surfaces
- Don’t prepare food for others while sick

Symptoms to watch:
Flu: Fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue
Norovirus: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain

Best defense? Stay home when sick and keep kids home until 24 hours fever, vomit, and diarrhea free.

Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD): What Parents Should Know

HFMD is a common illness in young children caused by a virus. It spreads easily in schools and daycare through coughs, sneezes, saliva, and contaminated surfaces.
Symptoms: Fever, sore throat, poor appetite, mouth sores, and rash on hands and feet.

Reducing the spread:
✅ Wash hands often
✅ Clean shared toys and surfaces
✅ Avoid sharing cups and utensils

Stay home while sick: Keep your child home until fever-free for 24 hours (without medication) and no open sores that can’t be covered (although some schools may have additional guidelines).
