Therapy is not neutral. It is inherently political.
When state sanctioned policies reliably generate fear, instability, and trauma for entire communities, silence is not a neutral act. It shapes the field, outcomes, and for many, it compounds harm.
I don’t believe ethical care requires me to become a blank slate in public life when that blankness erases real suffering.
My work asks me to listen deeply, to stay grounded, and to orient toward healing. That includes listening to my professional ethics-and my own moral compass when they tell me that speaking clearly and with care is part of “do no harm.”
