❓ WHY USE TUBING WRAP FOR YOUR CPAP
A tubing wrap may seem like a small accessory, but it can make a big difference in your comfort and the effectiveness of your CPAP therapy—especially during cooler months. Here’s why investing in one is a smart choice:

☑️ Prevents “Rainout” (Condensation in the Hose): When warm, humidified air from your CPAP meets cooler room air, it can cause water droplets to form inside the tubing—known as “rainout.” A tubing wrap insulates the hose, keeping air warmer and reducing condensation.

☑️ Keeps Air Temperature More Comfortable: The insulation helps maintain a steady air temperature as it travels from your machine to your mask, preventing chilly or damp airflow that can disturb your sleep.

☑️ Improves Humidifier Efficiency: By reducing heat loss, the wrap allows your humidifier to maintain consistent moisture levels, so you can enjoy the benefits of warm, soothing air without overworking the system.

☑️ Reduces Noise and Movement: A tubing wrap can soften the sound of air moving through the hose and reduce friction if the tubing rubs against your nightstand or headboard—helping you sleep more soundly.

☑️ Protects and Extends Hose Life: The wrap adds a layer of protection against kinks, wear, and damage, helping your tubing last longer.

In short, a tubing wrap keeps your therapy warmer, quieter, and more comfortable, making it an easy and worthwhile upgrade for any CPAP user.

WINTER CPAP TIPS: What to Consider When Using Your CPAP During the Winter ☃️⛄
Winter can bring unique challenges for CPAP users. Cold, dry air, indoor heating, and seasonal illnesses can all affect your comfort and therapy effectiveness.

Here are a few tips to maintain consistent, comfortable CPAP use during the colder months:
❄️Use Your Humidifier: Heated humidification is especially important in winter when indoor air is drier. It helps prevent dryness in your nose, mouth, and throat—making therapy more comfortable and reducing congestion.

❄️Check Your Water Chamber Daily: Because of the dry air, your CPAP humidifier may use more water in winter. Make sure the chamber is filled each night with distilled water to maintain proper humidity levels.

❄️Add Heated Tubing (if available): Heated tubing helps prevent condensation—known as “rainout”—from forming inside the hose when warm, moist air meets cold room air.

❄️Keep Equipment Clean and Dry: Winter illnesses like colds and flu spread easily, so regular cleaning of your mask, tubing, and humidifier is even more important to reduce germs and maintain healthy airflow.

❄️Avoid Cold Air Exposure: Try to keep your CPAP machine in a warm, stable environment. Cold temperatures can cause condensation inside the device and reduce performance.

❄️Maintain Consistent Use: Even during travel or the holidays, stay consistent with your CPAP therapy to avoid interrupted sleep and daytime fatigue.

❄️Watch for Sinus or Congestion Issues: If you develop sinus pressure or nasal stuffiness, talk to your provider about mask adjustments, saline sprays, or heated humidification settings.

😴 By making a few small adjustments, you can stay comfortable, protect your equipment, and enjoy restful, restorative sleep all winter long.

❓ DID YOU KNOW ... Daylight Savings time and Sleep Apnea Can Disrupt your sleep and feel well rested?

😴 WHY ARE STILL FEELING TIRED AFTER 8 HOURS OF SLEEP? You set aside eight hours for sleep, avoid caffeine late in the day, and even go to bed on time—so why are you still waking up tired and feeling fatigued throughout the day? As we turn the clocks back for daylight savings, in hopes to enjoying that one extra hour of sleep, many people notice their sleep patterns shift. But if you find yourself dragging through the day, it might be more than just a time change—your sleep quality could be the real culprit.

📊 STAT: According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), moving into or out of DST “has adverse effects on sleep/wake patterns that last about 5-7 days.”

📊 STAT: "After the switch to standard time (in the fall, when people gain an hour), those surveyed had a 34% increased risk of sleep dissatisfaction, 64% increased risk of difficulty staying asleep, and more than a 2× risk of excessive daytime sleepiness." - Science Daily

Why do you need CPAP Batteries on hand? A CPAP battery is important for anyone who relies on a CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine for sleep apnea therapy, especially in situations where consistent power isn’t guaranteed.

Here are some real life situations that you should have a CPAP battery in your go-bag or stored in your nightstand:

1️⃣ Backup Power During Outages: If the power goes out in the middle of the night, your CPAP stops working. A battery backup automatically keeps your CPAP running, preventing sleep disruption, oxygen drops, and apnea events.

2️⃣ Travel and Camping: Ideal for camping trips, RVs, or remote areas without electricity. Many CPAP batteries are FAA-approved for air travel, so you can use your machine on long flights.

3️⃣ Peace of Mind: You can sleep confidently knowing therapy won’t be interrupted—important for those who depend on CPAP nightly for health and energy.

4️⃣ Emergency Preparedness: In storms, hurricanes, or other emergencies where power loss is common, a CPAP battery ensures continuity of care.

5️⃣ Flexibility: Portable batteries make it easy to maintain therapy anywhere—at hotels, while visiting family, or during outdoor adventures.

USE CPAP WIPES EVERYDAY for Better Health and Better Sleep
Using CPAP wipes often is important for both hygiene and therapy effectiveness. Here are the main benefits:

✔️ Keeps equipment clean: CPAP masks, cushions, and tubing can collect oils from your skin, sweat, and dust. Wipes remove this buildup quickly.

✔️ Reduces germs and allergens: Regular cleaning lowers bacteria, viruses, and allergens that could irritate your airway or cause illness.

✔️ Prevents odors: Without cleaning, masks and tubing can develop unpleasant smells from trapped moisture and oils.

✔️ Protects equipment: Wipes designed for CPAP are gentle on silicone and plastics, helping extend the life of your mask and cushions compared to harsh soaps or chemicals.

✔️ Convenience: CPAP wipes are quick and easy—ideal for daily cleaning when you don’t have time to wash parts with soap and water.

✔️ Improves therapy comfort: A clean mask seals better, feels fresher, and reduces skin irritation or breakouts.

❓ FAQ: What is the recommended resupply program for CPAP parts and supplies?

Our Resupply Program: Our online resupply program ensures that you get your CPAP supplies and replacement equipment on time via our online portal. Our registered patients will receive an email notification when it’s time to replace your supplies and which supplies which you are eligible for and be able to place an order online.* The recommended schedule by most insurance companies is as follows:

📅 Every month:
(1) full face mask cushion
(2) nasal mask cushions
(2) disposable filters

📅 Every 3 months:
(1) full face or nasal mask (this does not include the headgear)
(1) heated tube or non-heated tube
(1) Mask frame

📅 Every 6 months:
(1) headgear
(1) non-disposable filter
(1) water chamber

As of August 1, 2025, we have transitioned our resupply schedule from monthly to 90-days. As of that date, our patients can now order a 90-day supply of their CPAP supplies (which includes CPAP mask cushions, disposable filters, mask parts, and heated tube). This is good news for our patients, their insurance companies and our staff as they no longer have to manage the resupply program on a monthly basis.

Increase your comfort when using your CPAP therapy at night: with Contour Home & Travel CPAP Mini Pillow

Contour’s CPAP pillows are specially shaped with features that help with mask wear (especially side/back sleepers), pressure on the face, hose position, and head/neck alignment. Some benefits include:

☑️ Less mask leaks & better seal: Side cut-outs or indentations give room for the CPAP mask and straps so they aren’t pushed or dislodged when you move. That reduces leaks.

☑️ Reduced discomfort & facial pressure. When your pillow doesn’t press against the mask or your face (especially at cheeks, nose, forehead), you get fewer pressure points, less skin irritation, and fewer red lines.

☑️ The pillow shape tends to prevent mask slippage, which also helps you avoid over-tightening straps that can hurt.

☑️ Improved head, neck, and shoulder support / alignment. Many CPAP pillows use orthopedic or contoured curves: the goal is to support your head, neck, and spine in a more neutral alignment. This helps maintain airway openness and reduce strain on neck/shoulder muscles.

☑️ For side sleepers, having a pillow climb up between the shoulder/side area (e.g. “shoulder crescent” or similar) keeps shoulders from compressing or shifting out of alignment.

☑️ Better comfort & possibly better CPAP compliance: When mask leaks, discomfort, noise, or hose tugging are reduced, people are more likely to use CPAP consistently. Surveys have shown big improvements in comfort and compliance when switching to a CPAP pillow.

☑️ More hours of use, more nights of use, fewer awakenings.
