Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are dental specialists who diagnose and treat diseases, injuries and defects of the teeth, oral cavity, facial bones and supporting facial structures. After completing four years of dental school and receiving a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS), oral and maxillofacial surgeons complete an additional four to six years of surgical training. This surgical training includes extensive in-hospital experience in anesthesia, medicine, oral pathology, general surgery, trauma/trauma surgery, plastic surgery and head/neck surgery. Our doctors:

Dr. Hawkins is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Hawkins received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 1985. He later attended the University of Illinois College of Dentistry where he received his DDS in 1996, graduating first in his class. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000. Dr. Hawkins holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center and the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also maintains privileges at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

Dr. Allan Libunao is a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Libunao received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign in 1991. He then received his DDS from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1996. After dental school, Dr. Libunao completed a dental internship at the San Francisco V.A. He then returned to Chicago to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Loyola University Medical Center in 2002. Dr. Libunao is on staff at Bolingbrook Hospital.

I had all four wisdom teeth extracted two weeks ago, and I’m so happy with the service I received. Doctor Allan is a fantastic surgeon. I hardly felt pain post surgery, and when I did, he was quick to act, and called me the following day after surgery to see how I was feeling. His staff, Nancy and Danielle, were extremely thorough and very polite. Five ⭐️ experience, five ⭐️ service! Highly recommend Suburban Oral Surgery!

Suburban Oral Surgery and Implant Center has returned (beginning May 18, 2020) to provide the highest quality oral surgical care while protecting the health and safety of our community, staff and patients.

We have implemented procedures that follow guidance from the CDC, IL Department of Public Health, American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to prevent the spread of COVID19. These policies include, but are not limited to: mandatory COVID 19 screening prior to all appointments, a mandatory mask policy, temperature screening and social distancing in our facilities, frequent deep cleaning of the facilities throughout the day and significantly decreasing the number of patient appointments for the day.

When you arrive at our office for an appointment, please call or text us from your car and you will be instructed when to enter the office. Please wear a mask when you come to your appointment and plan to attend your appointment alone, unless you need someone to help you during the visit.

Safety is our primary commitment. Please don't hesitate to call, text or email with any questions or concerns.

We are taking extra precautions to ensure our patients and staff stay healthy and safe.
