Dr. Curtis Schreiber recently was the first author of an article published in Drugs & Aging exploring a key side effect of new Alzheimer’s treatments, donanemab (Kisunla™) and lecanemab (Leqembi®). These breakthrough therapies target amyloid buildup in the brain to help slow memory decline in early Alzheimer’s. Patients at the Missouri Memory Center and CMH Research Department played an important role in this research—through clinical trials and real-world data that are helping shape the future of Alzheimer’s care.

Dr. Curtis Schreiber recently traveled to Australia to share his expertise on new Alzheimer’s treatments. The Missouri Memory Center and CMH Research Department played a key role in the clinical trials that helped bring these therapies to patients. Dr. Schreiber presented in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth reaching more than 200 physicians.

Dr. Schreiber shared insights on the latest advancements in Alzheimer’s treatment, including data from a groundbreaking therapy that the CMH Research Department helped study through clinical trials. He also highlighted real-world results collected from patients right here at the Missouri Memory Center—where these medications are now part of everyday care.

Today is World Stroke Day, October 29

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. Globally, 1 in 4 adults over 25 will experience a stroke in their lifetime.

Recognizing the signs early and calling 911 immediately can save a life. Stroke is treatable if caught quickly.

Remember to BE FAST:
B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance, headache or dizziness
E – Eyes: Blurred or double vision
F – Face: One side of the face is drooping
A – Arms: Arm or leg weakness
S – Speech: Slurred or strange speech
T – Time: Time to call for an ambulance immediately

Other possible symptoms to watch for:
Sudden numbness, confusion, trouble seeing, trouble walking or a severe headache.

Know the signs. Act FAST. Save a life.

We're excited to share that Dr. Curtis Schreiber recently presented at a symposium during the 150th annual meeting of the American Neurological Association in Baltimore, Maryland! His lecture showcased exciting new treatments for Alzheimer's disease and shared experiences from the Missouri Memory Center at CMH.

The Missouri Memory Center at CMH was recently featured in the news for its work on a nationwide “real world” study of a new Alzheimer’s treatment. Preliminary results were presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference, the world’s largest gathering of dementia researchers and clinicians.

This new treatment helps bring hope to patients and families facing Alzheimer’s disease.
