We’re just days away from opening, so I’d like to introduce myself 🥳
Myo-Thera was founded completely from a leap of faith.
I have spent my entire professional life working in healthcare in one aspect or another. I have a deep passion for health sciences and I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey that brought me here, but in 2023 I knew something needed to change. I never felt like I was doing enough, and I felt that there were SO many people out there suffering with chronic pain and stress that I simply could not reach. That’s when I found integrative healthcare.
With that leap of faith, I changed my focus of study to massage therapy, determined to do my part to fill in the gaps in modern healthcare. What I found was a lively community full of beautiful people exactly like me, who shared a common goal of reducing pain and stress in the people who need it most.
Given my interest in health science, I chose to pursue further education as soon as possible in clinical modalities such as neuromuscular, orthopedic, PNF/MET, myofascial, and more. I have received additional certification in non-surgical carpal tunnel treatment and MT for military veterans, as well as extra ethics courses to ensure I do not repeat the mistakes I’ve witnessed others make.
There was one problem left— I still found myself neglecting my own health and wellness while I poured everything I had into others. How could I take care of myself, while still maintaining school, work, and family? Surely I wasn’t the only one struggling to find time for their own wellness.
That’s when the idea for Myo-Thera was born: A therapeutic massage business that’s open AFTER traditional work hours, so the working class has access to the pain and stress relief they so desperately need.
All I want to do at Myo-Thera is affect positive change in the people of our community by reducing the physical and mental pain that so many people bear, and often, bear silently.
