A few safety tips for trick-or-treat night:
• Use reflective tape or glow sticks so kids are visible.
• Choose costumes that fit well and don’t trip little feet.
• Always check treats before eating.

Today is World Stroke Day, October 29

A stroke can happen to anyone, at any age. Globally, 1 in 4 adults over 25 will experience a stroke in their lifetime.

Recognizing the signs early and calling 911 immediately can save a life. Stroke is treatable if caught quickly.

Remember to BE FAST:
B – Balance: Sudden loss of balance, headache or dizziness
E – Eyes: Blurred or double vision
F – Face: One side of the face is drooping
A – Arms: Arm or leg weakness
S – Speech: Slurred or strange speech
T – Time: Time to call for an ambulance immediately

Other possible symptoms to watch for:
Sudden numbness, confusion, trouble seeing, trouble walking or a severe headache.

Know the signs. Act FAST. Save a life.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is tomorrow!

Join us Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for and safely dispose of unused or expired medications, no questions asked. Collection sites are available tomorrow in Bolivar and Willard, or find a location near you at http://bit.ly/48MD9C6.

Can’t make it tomorrow? Safely dispose of medications year round at Stephens Pharmacy, 1100 S. Springfield Avenue in Bolivar. A MedSafe drug collection receptacle is available in the pharmacy lobby.

Don't miss out! CMH Pediatric Clinic is offering drive-thru flu shot clinics for children ages 6 months to high school seniors from 4-6 p.m.
Here are a few reminders:
Pre-Visit Instructions:
• An adult or legal guardian must accompany all patients under the age of 18.
• Please do not have any pets in your vehicle.
• Please dress your child(ren) so that arms and legs are easily accessible. Short-sleeved shirts or shorts/onesies for young children are recommended.
• Children receiving the vaccine should not eat or drink during the vaccination.
• Please remove jackets before entering the drive-thru line.
• Children should remain secured in their car seats or seatbelts and should only occupy the end seats (not the middle seats).
Drive-Thru Clinic Instructions:
• When arriving at the clinic parking lot, follow the signs to enter the drive-thru line. Your first stop will be registration for all children who are receiving the flu vaccine.
• Follow the directions to the vaccination sites. Remain in the vehicle unless otherwise instructed.
