You know that feeling when you sit down, pull out a box of markers or paints, and suddenly you’re eight years old again?
That is exactly the kind of energy we had at Meadow View this week.
Our residents gathered around the table with Christmas sketches, outlines to color in, and a few crafty bits to glue and decorate. Nothing complicated, just simple creative time that feels good.
What surprised us, though, was how quickly the room filled with stories. Someone remembered making paper snowflakes with their kids. Someone else talked about their favorite childhood ornament. And just like that, the art turned into conversation, and the conversation turned into connection.
But the benefits for seniors go beyond this coziness.
Coloring helps support focus and hand strength. Drawing encourages imagination and keeps the mind engaged. And what’s particularly beneficial is that working with familiar seasonal shapes gives memory care residents a gentle sense of recognition and comfort.
If you are currently navigating memory care for your loved one and would like a warm, engaging, and truly home-like environment, Meadow View might be the right choice.
Book a tour and come say hello, we would be happy to show you around 🎄
