We really have to pay attention to all of the data on a sleep test and not just the AHI scale.

So important to have evaluation of airways and symptoms. Do not just rely on apnea events. There are many sleep disorders they can have even if they do not have sleep apnea. This is why I always refer to them as Sleep Disordered Breathing instead of sleep apnea.

If a child is:
😮 Mouth breathing
😴 Snoring
🌅 Waking up tired

…and the sleep study still says “normal,” then the test is missing the bigger picture.

A child’s airway and breathing should be assessed clinically, not just by numbers on a report. Sleep quality is more than apnoea counts.

👉 Parents: trust your gut. If your child isn’t thriving, don’t accept “normal” when they clearly aren’t.
