Although the process was way over-simplified in this episode, it's a great reminder that hearing loss can progress after birth, even after an infant passes their newborn hearing screening. If articulation issues or delayed speech are occurring, the first check should be hearing to rule out a hearing loss in one or both ears. Protect hearing early so kids can safely enjoy concerts, sporting events, and loud celebrations.
