💧 Did you know...
Women are more likely to wash their hands than men? Studies show that on average, women wash their hands more often and more thoroughly!

🧼 But no matter who you are, washing your hands is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to stay healthy. It helps stop the spread of germs that cause colds, flu, and even more serious infections.

🌍 October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a reminder that clean hands save lives.
So—did you wash your hands today?

Here’s a quick refresher:
1️⃣ Wet your hands with clean water.
2️⃣ Lather with soap for at least 20 seconds (hum “Happy Birthday” twice).
3️⃣ Rinse and dry with a clean towel or air dry.

Let’s make handwashing a habit worth celebrating—because healthy starts here, with you. ✋

At Boundary Community Clinics, your health is our priority. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men—but when found early, treatment is often more effective.

According to the American Cancer Society:

👨 Average-risk men should start the conversation about prostate cancer screening at age 50.
⚠️ Higher-risk men (family history) should begin talking with their provider around age 45—or even earlier if multiple relatives were diagnosed young.

Our Family Practice providers are here to answer your questions, discuss risk factors, and connect you with screenings through Boundary Community Hospital’s Imaging team when needed.

Taking charge of your health starts with one step: scheduling your annual checkup.

There have been two confirmed cases of measles in North Idaho — one in Kootenai County and one in Bonner County. While there are no cases currently in Boundary County, it’s important to stay aware.

Measles is very contagious and can be serious, especially for babies and young children. Symptoms usually appear 7–14 days after exposure and may include:

•High fever
•Cough, runny nose, red/watery eyes
•Rash (appearing 3–5 days after symptoms begin)

✅ The best protection is the MMR vaccine.
✅ Vaccination helps protect you, your family, and your community.
✅ If you think you or your child may have measles, stay home and call your healthcare provider before going in.

We know, UV Safety Month feels a little ironic when North Idaho’s been more “cloudy with a chance of fleece jackets” than sunny skies lately. But those UV rays sneak through even when the sun’s hiding! Keep the sunscreen handy… yes, even in the rain. 🌧️😉If you notice anything new, changing, or unusual on your skin, talk to your primary care provider at Boundary Community Clinics. Welcome, Dr. Hailey Rose, DO, pediatrician, to Boundary Community Clinics!

Dr. Rose is a Bonners Ferry native, a mom, and a compassionate pediatric provider with a heart for our community. She brings years of experience caring for children and teens—from newborns to college-aged patients—with a respectful, evidence-based approach that meets families where they are.

Having once worked at Boundary Community Hospital as a CNA in the early 2000s, Dr. Rose is thrilled to return to the same place that shaped her passion for medicine.

“My goal has always been to serve Boundary County. I’m honored to give back to the place that raised me.”

Dr. Rose is now accepting new pediatric patients, and we’re so grateful to have her caring for the next generation right here at home.
