We were delighted to host the Watauga Head Start preschool program for a fun-filled morning of Easter artwork with our residents! 💛

Little hands and big hearts came together to color, create, and share sweet conversations, with plenty of giggles along the way. 😊

💙✨ Meet Our Team: Rebecca Tester ✨💙

We’re proud to introduce Rebecca Tester, our incredible Assisted Living Life Enrichment Director at Deerfield Ridge!

Rebecca has been part of the Deerfield family for 18 years. After earning her CNA in high school, she began her healthcare journey as a 2nd shift CNA. As opportunities grew, she discovered her true passion in life enrichment, where she now helps create meaningful, joy-filled experiences for our residents every day.

When asked what she loves most about her role, Rebecca shared:
“The chance to get up each day and help residents find joy and opportunities in life. We come to Assisted Living to ‘live,’ and that’s what I want residents to be able to do for as long as possible—to find joy and happiness however we can each day.” 💛

Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, and crafting.

Thank you, Rebecca, for your years of dedication, compassion, and the joy you bring to our community. We are so grateful to have you as part of the Deerfield family! ✨

A big thank you to PruittHealth Hospice and Palliative Care for helping us host our residents’ Wellelderly Week celebration!

This special week focuses on senior health, vitality, and joy, and we loved highlighting activities that support an active lifestyle, mental health, and emotional well-being. 💪🧠💛

From engaging programs to meaningful moments together, it was a wonderful reminder of the importance of staying active, connected, and joyful at every stage of life.

🍦😄 Frozen Yogurt Mission Accomplished! 😄🍦

The residents of Deerfield Ridge set out on a very important outing—a mission for frozen yogurt at Sweet Frog!

There were lots of laughs, plenty of sprinkles, and some very serious decisions about toppings… chocolate or fruit? Gummies or cookie crumbles? Why not a little bit of everything! 🍫🍓🍪

By the end of the visit, cups were full, smiles were even fuller, and it was clear the sweet treat was a huge hit. Some might even say our residents are now official frozen yogurt experts! 💛

🌟 Meet Our Team: Chrisa Walters Ansley, Director of Sales & Marketing 🌟

Chrisa has been serving in senior adult communities for more than 10 years and moved up the mountain to join the Deerfield Ridge team in August 2025. She brings over 25 years of sales, management, and marketing experience.

When asked what she loves about her role, she shared, “Every day I connect with someone new. Every day I have the opportunity to offer relief to exhausted folks who have loved and cared for someone else and are in need. Every day I have the opportunity to make someone's day a tad bit brighter. This doesn't feel like work to me. It feels more like I am where I am supposed to be, doing what I am equipped to do, with the people meant to cross paths with me. How much more perfect could a job be!” 💙

When not caring for our residents, Chrisa enjoys:

🎨✨ An Inspiring Afternoon Outing! ✨🎨

Our residents at Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living enjoyed a delightful trip to the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum!

They spent the afternoon exploring beautiful exhibits and admiring local artwork. It was a wonderful opportunity to get out, share some laughs, spark great conversations, and appreciate the creativity and culture that make our area so special.

A big thank you to the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum for providing such an inspiring place for our residents to visit. We love creating meaningful moments and new memories together in our community! 💙
