Freedom Farm Ministries

Freedom Farm Ministries The mission of Freedom Farm Ministries is to offer restoration through the transforming power of Jesus.

In September 2006, Freedom Farm Ministries began with three men in a recently renovated double-wide. Now Freedom Farm houses up to 45 men in six locations with three unique program phases. Freedom Farm is a non-profit 501(c)(3) ministry serving men by helping them grow in a life centered in Jesus Christ. Hundreds of men have already received that new life, and many have renewed health, renewed reputations and been reunited with family. Most importantly, these men have gained a new or restored faith through repentance and belief in our savior Jesus Christ.

The stone was rolled away—and with it, every chain.

Death was defeated. Hope was restored. And because He lives, new life is possible for all of us.

“He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.”

It was love that held Him on the cross.
It was love that made Him pay the cost.
It was love now I can plainly see.
It was love, wonderful love, He had for you and me.

We're excited to share our March Updates:

✋️ With a recent influx of new men, we’re grateful to share that we now have our first full Restoration group—five men—for the first time in over a year. Please be praying for each of them as they walk through this 40-day season, that their hearts would be open and receptive to the truth being poured into them.

🏡 We also have a praise report—an appraiser has officially been engaged and will begin work on April 1st. This is a meaningful step forward as we continue pursuing a centralized campus. We’re encouraged and trusting the Lord for continued progress throughout this year.

🌼 As the season for outdoor projects picks up, our Property Maintenance team is currently taking calls and scheduling bids for property maintenance work. If you have something around your home that needs attention, please call us at (828) 406-2642.

Please continue to lift up our staff and their families. This work can be demanding and often comes with real spiritual resistance. We’re thankful for your prayers and encouragement as we press on.

One of our residents recently returned from a trip to Israel with our local church and had the opportunity to share his experience with the ministry. From walking through places he had only read about in Scripture, to seeing God’s faithfulness in his own journey—it was a meaningful time of reflection.

Moments like this remind us that the work God is doing here goes far beyond the day-to-day. He’s building faith that carries into the world.

Grateful to witness men growing, sharing, and walking forward in truth.

Spring is finally here. 🌿 We love this season and all it represents: new life, joy, flourishing.

"My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away." — Song of Solomon 2: 10-13, KJV

BEFORE & AFTER: A recent project from our Property Maintenance team: a full outdoor staircase renovation.

Our Phase 3 residents worked together to repair and rebuild these exterior steps, making them safer, stronger, and ready to serve this home for many years to come.

If you have a project around your home that could use some attention, our team would be glad to help while supporting the life-changing work happening at Freedom Farm.

We’re so thankful for the men and women the Lord brings alongside our ministry.

Tim Sellers, who started a Reconcile Ministry at our church, visited the ministry to teach biblical peacemaking and conflict resolution. Many of the men who come to Freedom Farm have lived through years of broken relationships, anger, and unresolved conflict. Learning how to approach these situations in a Christ-honoring way is an important step toward lasting change.

We’re grateful for Tim’s willingness to invest his time and wisdom into the lives of these men. Please continue praying that the Lord would use these teachings to shape hearts and bring true reconciliation.

Spring is here, and that means it’s time for a little cleaning out and freshening up. If you’re going through closets, garages, or storage rooms and finding things you no longer need, consider donating them to the Freedom Farm Ministries Thrift Store in Vilas.

We gladly accept donations of furniture, clothing, household goods, and other usable items. Every item donated helps support our year-long, Christ-centered recovery program for men overcoming addiction.

You can drop off donations at the store Monday through Saturday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, or we can schedule a pickup for larger items.

In his letter to the Romans, Paul reminds us how far beyond our understanding the wisdom of God truly is. He writes, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”

There are seasons in life when nothing seems to make sense. We try to reason through our struggles, our past mistakes, and even our recovery. Yet God’s plan is deeper than what we can see in the moment. What feels confusing to us is never confusing to Him.

No one has advised God, and no one has earned His grace. Everything we have comes from Him.

Our lives, our healing, and our future all begin and end with the Lord. To Him be glory forever. Amen. 🙏

"O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." – Romans 11:33–36 (KJV)

We're excited to share new updates from February:

❄️ Winter Challenges: It’s been a challenging winter here in the High Country, but we’re not losing hope. The Lord continues to bring a steady stream of new guests through our doors, and we’re thankful for each one. Please join us in praying that these new brothers would truly experience gospel transformation during their time at Freedom Farm.

🗻 Campus Update: We’ve sent out requests to appraisers as we take the next steps toward a central campus, but we haven’t received any quotes yet. If you or someone you know could assist with property appraisals, please have them reach out to Jim Quigley at 828-964-2914.

🔨 New Projects: We were recently blessed with a generous lumber donation from our friend Mark Church of Church and Church Lumber in Wilkesboro. Several of our men have strong woodworking skills and have been crafting beautiful pieces to sell in the thrift store (See image below). Many items have sold quickly and even opened the door for custom projects. If you’re stopping by the store, be sure to check out what they’ve been building.

🙏 Prayer Requests: Most of all, please continue to pray for our guests. Many of these men have lived in deep bo***ge to sin, and true freedom only comes through Christ. Pray their hearts would be softened and open to Him.

And please keep our staff in your prayers as well. Balancing vocational ministry with caring for our own families can be stretching at times, but we’re grateful to serve. Thank you for standing with us.

Freedom Farm Ministries is a year-long, Christ-centered addiction recovery program located in Boone, NC. Serving men from all over the country, our program isn’t just a temporary reset, it’s a season set apart for deep, lasting transformation found only in Jesus Christ.

Our men walk through structured phases that focus on spiritual growth, personal responsibility, discipleship, and practical life skills. They spend time in daily Bible study, worship, work therapy, and mentorship. As they grow spiritually, they also learn how to rebuild relationships, manage responsibilities, and prepare for life beyond addiction.

In Phase 3, residents serve through our supporting ministries like the thrift store, firewood sales, and property maintenance. During this time, their program fees are waived and their work goes toward their cost of living. It’s a meaningful step that builds dignity, work ethic, and community connection.

We believe lasting recovery happens when a man surrenders his life fully to Christ.

📖 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV
