This incredible woman had one special wish on her bucket list: to ride a horse again. And last weekend, with the heartfelt support of Cottonwood Creek Ranch, that dream became a beautiful reality.
Back in the Saddle at 97
Janet, who uses a walker, bravely made her way to Stretch — a gentle Morgan horse — waiting patiently for her in the parade ring. With steady hands, encouraging smiles, and the loving support of ranch staff and her family, Janet was carefully helped into the saddle.
And just like that, she was back where she belonged.
But she didn’t just sit tall and soak in the moment.
She took the reins with confidence.
She guided Stretch around the arena.
She even trotted.
At 97 years old.
