SATURDAY CHORES—what’s happening on Sweet Annie’s Farm? Time to chop the mint and lemon balm—-and oregano! Do you grow your own herbs? They’re wonderful fresh but also so easy to dry and store. It’s like a little gift of summer when you bring them out to make tea, or soup in the wintertime. We dry ours in the greenhouse now that it’s too hot to start plants and put a shade cloth over top. Dark and dry and lots of air circulation.

Gardening FAIL! Not sure why all of our hardy lavender decided to kick the bucket— but everything else is looking happy and healthy! You just have to roll with the gardening punches sometimes. We have found a new variety that we hope will be even more winter tough. We use organic practices on our farm. After we harvest these amazing plants Anne uses her Expertise as a certified clinical aromatherapist and Nurse practitioner to make healing salves, pain relief balms, soothing soap and more! This new addition to Sweet Annie’s has been a game changer! We are loving our greenhouse - the light and feeling inside and the space is so restorative. We have been able to start all of our garden seeds and tide over and our too enthusiastic purchases of tender plants from our local growers before planting them out. We put eutectic panels from Templok Tiles from Insolcorp to help balance out the temperature swings. Can’t wait to show you what’s growing here next!
