Each year team members are encouraged to nominate their peers and shared why they believe they exemplify out values, our BREATH (Belonging, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork, and Humility). Below is Matt's full nomination, written by a fellow employee, and it perfectly captures the impact Matt has on patients, coworkers, and our area communities. 🩺
"Matt truly lives our BREATH values every single day. He is one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and it shows in every interaction he has. He treats every patient, whether it’s a little kid or an older adult, the exact same: with patience, respect and so much compassion. He really listens, acknowledges what they’re telling him and makes sure they feel heard and supported.
You can see Belonging and Respect in everything he does. He also shows Excellence in the way he approaches his work. He’s always trying to make things better for patients and the people around him. On top of his day-to-day work, he’s always jumping at any chance to be at school events or anything that benefits local families. His commitment to lifting up the communities he works in, especially for kids, is something really special. Accountability is another area where he stands out. When he tells a patient he is going to do something or check in to something for them and get back to them, he actually does it!
Whether he’s researching Medicare options for his patients or encouraging a little one with their potty-training, he checks in and ensures he’s keeping his promises to his patients. He’s dependable, level-headed and always ready to help however he can. He’s also an incredible teammate and truly embodies Teamwork. He works so well with everyone across the organization. He’s quick to praise others, build people up and make sure those around him feel appreciated. His positive attitude makes him someone everyone loves working with. And, through it all, he shows Humility. Even with his knowledge and experience, he approaches things with openness and a willingness to learn. He takes feedback well, reflects on it and keeps striving to grow. Overall, he’s exactly the kind of person who represents the best of our organization. His compassion, energy and dedication make a real impact on patients, coworkers, and the community. He is so deserving of the 2025 Employee of the Year Award."
