I can never truly understand,
How we are expected to fit in,
When we are all so very different,
Not just on the surface, but within.

We are all separate works of art,
Each one of us, completely unique,
Not only in how we look, but,
In the way we think and speak.

Appreciation of our differences,
Is where we need to be,
Not bending someone into shape,
To fit into a category.

The word 'normal', we use so often,
Really has no useful place,
When there is so much diversity,
In personalities, looks and race.

So stand proud in who you truly are,
Never needing to be part of the crowd,
Your quirks and differences tell a story,
So, tell it, whilst standing proud ..
