Justin and Tiffany hired me from the very start of her pregnancy!

Due to her sweet baby measuring small, Tiffany, Justin and her OB decided it would be safer for baby to go ahead and be earthside! ✨So they scheduled an induction on a Sunday evening when she was 38 weeks.

Or so we thought…….

Saturday before her induction early in the morning around 12 AM Tiffany called saying she thinks her water broke. (Woohoo!!)
After contractions started picking up and doing some last minute packing they decided to head to the hospital!

After laboring all early morning and after some IV pain meds, AND working to 5cm, at 7AM Tiffany was ready for her epidural!

Once she was finally comfortable and relaxed we changed positions, talked, braided hair and she took a nap. At around 1:15pm she was complete (10cm) and it was time to push!

Mom and sweet baby worked so well together that baby was VERY low so we knew she wouldn’t need to push long! After one practice push the midwife came in and she pushed through 3-4 contractions and finally a sweet baby girl was born at 2:08pm! 🎊

This mom was a total rockstar! She handled everything with love and grace! Throughout her whole pregnancy and labor she was so eager to listen and learn so that she could have an empowering birth! I am soooo thankful that this couple chose me to help support them! They will forever be friends! 💕

I swear this job gets better and better with every birth I have! I love meeting new people and new hospitals and the best part is experiencing ALL DIFFERENT KINDS of births!

This was Megan’s second baby and she and her husband DESIRED an empowering birth, yes I said her husband too because your birth not only effects you but whoever is with you! At our birth plan meeting she brought me a detailed list of everything they wanted, all the way down to she was going to announce the gender of her baby!

At 38 weeks Megan went into her doctors appointment thinking they were going to send her home but little did she know it was going to be her baby’s birthday!! 🎊

When Megan went to the hospital to start her induction we all expected the party wouldn’t start until the next morning but at 8:30pm, after a tiny dose of pitocin (literally she was on 4, which if you know pitocin that is very low) and a foley bulb I got a call at 10pm that the bulb had fell out and contractions were getting intense to head that way!!

Once getting her epidural at 8cm! I arrived at 11:50pm and got the room cozy with my fairy lights. We talked and laughed and rotated positions for only a short little while because around 12:30am it was time to push! With such power and grace at 12:55am a sweet baby girl was born! 💕

Super super thankful that this experience was so much more than they had imagined, especially after their first experience! I am so thankful I met this sweet family and them allowing me to be their doula. She was LITERALLY a super woman!!! ✨

5 years of waiting for the arrival of this sweet little babe ✨

All births are wonderful but IVF births just hit a little different for me……..

I met Ashley and Brandon early in Ashley’s pregnancy and although they weren’t exactly sure how they wanted their birth to look just yet, they did know that they wanted this birth to be empowering and wonderfully remembered!

Once her foley bulb came out and she was 5cm dilated I got the call to head to the hospital. When I arrived this girl was handling these contractions (AND PITOCIN) like a champ! Not long after I arrived she was dilated to 7cm and she got her epidural!

As everyone knows epidurals don’t always work and you can still feel contractions in certain parts of your body. This was Ashley’s case.

Through alternating sides, counting, fanning, counter pressure, etc. this girl handled these contractions like a pro!

When time to push, it was like she had done this before! She was pushing beautifully and exactly right! Due to baby being a little on the bigger side she had a little help from the “kiwi” 🥝

FINALLY at 7:41pm their sweet baby boy was born! 💙

Thank you Ashley and Brandon for letting me be apart of your birth story of this sweet little baby! He was definitely worth waiting for!

The famous doula bag! Filled with LOTS of goodies to help mom deliver a sweet baby!

When I walk into the hospital room with my giant bag, 95% of the time, I get wide eyes and “what in the world is in there” (mostly from dad 😂) And my answer is always “the good stuff”!

I have
•Heat packs
•Rice pack
•Fairly lights
•Speaker
•Birthing ball
•Fan
•Essential Oils
•Diffuser
•Massage balls (these are HEAVEN✨)
•Combs
•Rebozo
•Blood pressure cuff (in case momma labors at home)
•Empowering quotes!

Some women use everything I have to offer in my bag, some only use a couple of these and some don’t use anything (which is rare).

What is something that you found helped tremendously during your labor? If it is one of these items tell me, if it was something not listed also tell me so I can add it to my bag!

Happy birthing mamas! 💕

Super mom, that describes Amber.

This was her second baby and desired a completely different birth this time and decided to hire a doula! Her first labor was 18 hours and like every mom, one of our goals was to shorten labor time and boy did she accomplish that!

I received a phone call at 12:30AM Monday morning explaining that her contractions were 1 minute apart and they were intense but bearable. After listening to her through a contraction I told her to head to the hospital!

Once arriving contractions kicked in so intensely and fast!! I arrived at 1:35AM and she was dilated to 6cm. Handling every contraction like a boss and progressing so fast! At 1:47AM her water broke ALL ON ITS OWN and she started feeling the urge to push! 1:57AM she was complete (10 cm and 100% thinned) and was already pushing. At 2:00AM sweet babe was here and with mom and dad!

Definitely my fastest birth I have ever had and she was so incredible!

There is nothing easy about childbirth but you can always have goals and I can say she achieved most of hers!

So proud of you momma 💕

I met Ashley when she was 34 weeks pregnant. This was her third baby and after having two previous traumatic births she decided that having a doula would be the best option for her this time, which I am SUPER happy that she did!

Ashley had a history of preterm labor and delivered one baby at 35 weeks and one at 33 weeks, so you can imagine how nervous she was.

But even what she had went through she knew what she wanted this birth and was determined to do everything possible to achieve it! She listened to every piece of advice that was given, she was always a good sport when I wanted her to change positions and try new techniques but most importantly she was AMAZING at advocating for herself!

After being in the hospital at 36 weeks over night thinking she was in active labor and dilating to a 4 she was sent home! For 3 weeks Ashley walked around at 4cm! At her 39 week doctors appointment she went in expecting the be sent home but she was dilated to 6cm but still wasn’t in labor! After being sent to the hospital and many positions and rest she got her epidural at 7cm, broke her water and baby was here only 2 hours later! You could definitely tell she had done this before, she handled everything like a natural!

Thank you so much Ashley and Derrick for allowing me to be apart of your birth! It truly was magical✨

A photo that needs no caption 🧡 so much emotion and love bursting out of this one capture 🤍

This is always my very favorite moment of a birth to photograph. That moment when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time. The love. The joy. The pride. The relief. The exhaustion. The awe. Every emotion heightened and real and raw and beautiful. It's one of the very truest forms of love I have the honor of holding still.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Many women do not know that when doctors or nurses check you they don’t just check how far dilated and thinned out your cervix is but they also check what stage your baby is in, meaning where baby is located in your birth canal.

The possible stages of your baby is ✨

-3 - High in birth canal
-2
-1
0 - Engaged in birth canal
+1
+2
+3 - Baby is crowning 👑

Although knowing how far dilated and how thinned your cervix is is important, but knowing your baby’s stage is just as important also!

For example if you are 100% dilated and 10cm dilated (complete) but your baby is at a +1 station you could be forcing your body to push when it is simply not ready yet! So ideally you would want to relax, keep up with positioning, get through those contractions and give baby time to work their way down before pushing! You then will have less pushing time and easier for baby to come out!

The more ya know...... happy birthing 💕

My first birth back, after having my sweet baby, was better than ever!

From the very beginning Shannon was dealt a crazy hand with pregnancy. From having a 7cm sub-chronic hemorrhage until 28 weeks and preeclampsia I never saw this mom hold her head down or loose focus in what she desired for her birth with her sweet babe! We knew what she was praying for and oh did we see them come to pass!

Shannon was induced at 37 weeks and low and slow is what we aimed for! I got the call at 2:30AM to head to the hospital right after her water broke ON ITS OWN!!

Mom was at so much peace when I arrived and was handling every contraction like she had definitely done this before!

After laboring throughout the night and into the morning Shannon made it to 5cm and decided to get an epidural around 1:30PM, so she could finally get some rest and relax!

After a couple of hours baby Abram just wasn’t happy anymore and was ready to come on out into the world! His little heart rate started having decels. After discussion, mom and dad decided it was safer to birth this babe c-section!
Due to Abram being 37 weeks and possibly having another condition with his heart, after baby was delivered he and dad would head to the NICU. Imagine this, first time mom, induced pretty early, dad gone, baby gone, she would have been all alone BUT thankfully hospitals see the importance of Doulas and I was able to be with Shannon the entire time even during post op!

After a check on baby he was given a clean bill of health and back with mom and dad!

Never have I seen a mom with so much grace and humbleness! She is a true inspiration.

Thank you Shannon and Garrett for allowing me to be apart of your story! ♥️

(Garrett you were wonderful too! Shannon couldn’t have picked a better husband/father!)
