Ben's Robotic Assisted Nephrectomy Surgery

Good Morning Everyone
Yesterday Dr Mossanan took out the stitches and staples from my abdomen! Everything looks good thus far!
I can increase my movements etc as tolerated!
He is sending me to Dana Farber for oncology referral to make sure they got it all and I dont need any other treatments to make sure it foes not come back!!!
Also sending me to Nephrologist to help me do the right things to save the other kidney!!!
Because of rare genetic form of this cancer, I have donated my kidney to science, and I am also going to a Genetic Research Study to help my sons, grandsons and others be safe from this aggressive renal cell carcinoma cancer!!!

Hi Everyone
Well I just went through one of the most horrible experiences of my life!!!
The surgery ended up being 2 major robotic open procedures!!!
I am finally home now after 12 days a Brigham and Woman's Hospital Boston
Now a very slow careful recovery here at home.
Drs orders of no visitors for a bit to keep my body safe!!

More to come as due to the rare form of cancer I had, I am going to become part of a research study as well as meetingbwith an oncology team to be sure they gotbit all out

Happy Sunday my dear friends

As you know, Tuesday I will be having robotic assisted surgury to remove my cancerous kidney.
Because the cancer I have is rare, yesterday I signed consent to donate my kidney to Dana Farber research! Maybe something good can come from it !!!
To make it easier on Mary Jane, I have set up this page for her to leave quick updates so everyone can check up on me!!
I will be sure to post again when I am able!
